Sorry that was such a half-arsed review. I'm getting over the flu with a dash of asthma, so I'm not as compus mentis as I'd like to be. (Whether that is a plus or a minus I shall most likely never know.) Anyway, what I really wanted to say but temporarily didn't have the wherewithall to say it was that this fic is heartwarming and evocative, with some delightful imagery. The people blockage in the mess line as tangles in hair, or rocks disrupting the steady flow of a river. Guh. An absolute delight. Thank you for sharing. :-D
