Title: Torment
Author: chokolaj
Rating: T
Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort
Summary: The title sums it up pretty well. Shep whump!

I decided to end this on 20 chapters, instead of 21, so enjoy!

--//--

Like the sudden appearance of the sun after a particularly nasty storm, John Sheppard woke up. His heart beat to a regular rhythm and he took a breath on his own.

I loved all the comments about being too happy. And the nice twist at the end where it went kind of dark. Wasn't expecting that, but it is very realistic. I know I'd have nightmares for a while about an experience like that. Cool story!!

Please make it less difficult for your potential readers to *find* all the parts of your stories. I very seldom read WIPs because there are only so many plot lines I can keep track of. So, when I find the last part of a multi-part story, I then go back and try to track down all the parts. Checking under your user name as a tag gets me back to part 8. Checking your livejournal nets only a single part.

While you may be a fabulous writer, I'll probably never know. Because I won't backtrack through dozens of pages hunting each story post. Please consider either tagging all your story posts with your user name or providing a link to all the parts in the last post.

I apologize for the difficulty this may have caused you but please be aware that I am new to LJ, therefore not very familiar with things such as leaving links as you say. Instead of getting frustrated with me, please simply email me or any author for that matter, the next time you find it difficult to track down pieces of a story. I primarily post at fanfiction.net, as I think many do, and there you can find the entire story via one link. Again, sorry for you frustration, but please don't feel the need to take it out on me.

It doesn't hurt me that you won't be reading further because really, it's your loss in the end. Guess it wasn't worth it for you to continue as it was. I apologize for your inconvenience.

Ooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaay.. you know, I don't usually bitch someone else out just because their hard work inconvenienced me out. Can I tell Miss Anon-a-pain-in-the-butt she/he's being rude? Can I? Please?

RUDE!!! Fine, don't read if it's a pain for you as some stories I don't like, I don't very well tell a writer, 'Hey, would you please refrain from writing SGA fics with Carter and the new Dr. Keller in them because I dislike those characters? You may be a good writer, but you're writing doesn't interest me and if you want me to be interested, you need to please me. Me me me.. aaaaaall about me.'

LOL.. you know, I think I've had a bad day and am tired of stupid people.

So, that said, that previous comment made to you.. RUDE RUDE RUDE!

Now, I'm going to settle my pissed-off butt down and write a proper review.

Whoever determines whether anonymous messages are posted has not allowed my first apology through, but I'll feel better writing this anyway. I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry. All I wanted was to read the story. Yes, I was a bit frustrated because I couldn't find all the parts. I really like long stories. So, I asked for help. Obviously, I didn't do a good job on that. I don't have a LiveJournal account and don't understand the etiquette involved. Nor do I really want to get one just to get yelled at.

I've already told chokolaj that I won't bother her/him again.

Fantastic ending! Loved all the infirmery time with the comments about an overly-happy-nicely-drugged up Sheppard, and Rodney's comment about him intentionally dying, and Teyla's patient smile and retort about not being able to understand the conversations between them. And appropriate Ronon reply that you don't have/want to. LOL perfect.

Loved that we got Weir and Carson in this story. I miss them this season, and to be shamefaced truthful, I've not read much fanfic based on this season because of that.

Anyroad, this was a mesmerizing journey, a wild ride, and a mind-trip to be sure! You kept us constantly wondering and continually confused just enough to keep it interesting and paced well.

I look forward to another!!!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Yes, I also believe that those comments were a bit rude and really quite unnecessary. I've dealt enough with this kind of nitpickyness in RL and I didn't really want to have to deal with more, but I tried to handle it the best I could. So again, thank you. I had a great time writing this, though I really do wish I would have had more energy to write it! Thanks again for all your feedback throughout the fic and for defending me.

As for the addition of Carter & Keller this season, yeah, it is a little tough to get used to, but I do like the fact that the show is staying true to the format that life changes and you have to deal with what you get. Doesn't mean we have to like it though! LOL. Take care! :D

I'm behind on my fic reading and just finished up this series today.
I enjoyed it very much. It was scary and creepy at times, and held my interest throughout. Poor John, he always manages to find trouble... and we love him for it. ;-)
Thanks for an entertaining read. *G*
