'Cars' by Gary Numan. Excellent:

Shepfact: Gary Numan discovered synthesisers by accident when he leaned on the keyboard of a switched-on Minimoog at the studio that his band, Tubeway Army was using to record their first album, which replied with a booming electronic bass sound. The rest is history :)

electronica, cool music, 1970s

Many people cite Cars to be the first ever fully synthesized piece of music. This is untrue - the first piece ever was in fact the Doctor Who theme tune from way back in the 60's.

There were plenty of fully-synthesised pieces of music years before Cars was even thought of; It wasn't even fully-synthesised, as it featured real guitars and drums ;)
