Swelling is going down, bruises are coming up. Went to physio yesterday and now I know how much of the pain is stiffness and how much is still damaged. (still too much of the second but far too much of the first) So now I have exercises to do, a new tubular compression bandage (which is actually more comfortable than what I was doing with the ( Read more... )

You know, really, this just proves what I've known all along - exercise is bad for you.

How you going with all this head wise? (I'm only asking cos I had a couple of days where the head squirrels ran rampant and tried to eat my brain).

Headwise I'm doing much much better after the physio. Not having to work around the stupid crutches and now that I know which pain to work through the ankle is much less stiff and so much less painful. So between that and the fact the rest of my muscles are complaining less I'm starting to feel like I actually have spoons left to cope with other things... which is a good feeling (or at least far better than the alternative)

So yeah... head squirrels seem to be scared of physio :D

I'm planning to ask her (next appointment) for tips for dealing with minor sprains... along with those nice 'strengthening exercises'... and wondering if I can sneak in getting advice on such things for my wrists too :D

um... so as this post itself suggests I am doing much better... able to look up from the current step and plan a bit :D

Wish I could find that bliddy Magic Wand to fix things for you! Oh well, never mind ~~ you will get better slowly and at least you are still moderately functional. Being unable to do things sucks!

yeah, never seem to be able to find that thing when I need it :P

The up side of all this is making me pay attention to the fact that working on ankle strength really should have been the first of my fitness goals. So I'll be making use of physio time to find out exercises to do to be strengthening ankles and concentrating on them for at least next few months. Hopefully I'll eventually end up with ankles that I don't expect to turn on a semi-regular basis (stupid genetics... get them from Dad... effects same part of wrist joint too :P)

Yeah, I'm a slacker :P

Things are going ok. Have put some things on back burner (or back of cupboard for that matter) this year and concentrating on other things... like getting projects done for medieval stuff and learning sign language and book binding at night class.

Guess I should probably do a post sometime, but I'm afraid I've been neglecting LJ, haven't even been reading it for a while now :P

*hugs*

I'd also been neglecting LJ. What happened, what is it that you're recovering from?

Lol. I'm ok. Still beetling on.

This entry was last year, after I'd turned my ankle badly while walking on the hills. It took a few months to come entirely right.

I've been learning sign language and book binding this year, and now that the weather is clearing up again I've finally (a year later) been brave enough to start walking on the hills again.
