Beautiful story! I love how Volker is the one who sets up the calendar, how his death is something so profound to the Novus settlers (being the first) that they are able to mark it again one Novus-year later.

Thanks - I'm glad you liked it! I always loved how TJ's concerned face merges into Dale's grave marker - a foreshadowing of her own fate.

I can see why. I always liked Volkner and was really hoping he'd get the girl. But one can't blame Ron for that one. It's just the way things were.
