Where did they come up with the cruise control concept? I guess it can work when going along a long flat highway. But on hills, the cruise control floors it to maintain the same speed going up hill, and then brakes on the way down. As opposed to me letting my truck slow down a bit going up hill, and using gravity to pick up the lost speed on the other side.
The rest of that I do for the most part. Although I saw an news clip about a guy who's personal game is to see how good of fuel economy he can get. So he slowly accelerates onto the freeway. Goes 55 no matter what the speed limit is. And a couple of other things. I keep wondering how long before he's in an accident, since the leading cause of traffic accidents on highways is failure to maintain the same speed as everyone around you.
