Hi Shell!!!! I got home from the movie at 2 am this morning!
I went as Umbridge and while I waited in line someone came up to me and said, "I don't like you." I was like, Um... ok. You're not supposed to. Thomas went as Dumbledore and handed out lemon drops in line. :)
Overall, I liked it. Which, as you know, I never say!!! But if you had to cut this story down, I thought they picked good places, and the only totally ridiculous, extraneous thing they added was that HORRIFYING AND INCREDIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE dancing scene with Harry and Hermione. They weren't just making shit up willy-nilly like in the last movie.
I was sad at how many people didn't get their chance to be redeemed (Grindelwald, Dudley Dursley, Lupin (although since he didn't behave poorly in this, he didn't really need to get redeemed, I guess), but overall, I liked it.
I agree that it was nice to get to actually see what was happening on screen, but I thought the Tinworth scene (after burying Dobby) was TOO bright!! LOLOL
Yeah, I agree, they picked good spots on where to cut it down. There are some good discussions here on LJ--things I forgot about about when I wrote my review. Yeah, I really wanted to see Dudley get redeemed as well and wanted to see Luna's mural.
Omg, though, when they were camping I kept thinking of Second Life and was like... Umm... she's supposed to being Snape!!! Oh, man, fanfic has really mixed up canon for me and sometimes I don't know what is real or not! When Hermione oblivated her parents, I wanted to say to my sister, they are going to Austrailia, but wasn't sure if that really happened or not! hahahah.
Oh well, I'm glad you enjoyed it though! I can't wait to take Steve to go see it!
