I am sitting around feeling apathetic and blah, which I have been mostly doing all day. The slightest bit more of this blah sitting around and I'm going to tip right over into self-pity land, and believe me - nobody wants that! But if I stand any chance of avoiding this I have to go and clean the kitchen or at least do the washing up which is ( Read more... )

My Grandad was a curator there and often did the night shift. He was familiar with the other occupants of the mansion. Your description isn't too far from what he used to tell us.

Couldn't hear the preparations this year. The wind must have been in the wrong direction. I did wonder if it was going to prove too wet to go ahead. Guess not.
