Yeah and Leonard's face after he said it was pure gold, like "Yeah that's a god one!" I Would love to see that old Leonard back... Another great breakdown for a good episode ^^ The "I'm gonna miss you" was really cute ^^ Then again, baby steps...
Ps: Am I the only guy here in the community? I don't see a lot guys here...
We have three other active male posters: redgrunt84, awmperry and snowdan07. We also have anonymousguy27, but he's not terribly active, but welcome just the same. :)
Still an active reader. I just don't post much these days - as you know, I've been rather distracted by Castalia/Isadrora recently. ;-)
You'll be interested to know, though, that the next chapter of Star Turtle is in the works, as are a couple of others that may or may not go anywhere. But first I have to write my entry into the NYCMM Short Story contest, and it's not going well. I have eight days - well, had; it closes at midnight on Saturday, so I need to pull my thumb out - to write a 2500-word mystery story about an astronaut. And I'm rubbish at mystery, and I have no ideas.
Any ideas or help? The quicker I finish the story, the sooner I can get on with the next chapter of Star Turtle... ;-)
I found the ep funny in parts, although the ending seemed unnecessarily cruel and sitcom OTT humor (someone asks to "take your bag" and then steals it? Really? :/ )
I think my biggest problem with the ep is the theme seemed very "stock" sitcom -- nothing new or original about it. Someone gets robbed and takes OTT precautions to make sure it doesn't happen again. Just because it's Sheldon doesn't mean it's a creative idea.
I didn't hate the ep, I laughed a good deal, but I think the word I'm ultimately looking for is "forgettable." :/ There's nothing in it that will stay with me.
But I always appreciate your breakdowns -- they make me look at the eps with new eyes. :D
Your choice of screencap says it all. No one can deny that Penny cares for Sheldon. PERIOD. (Or vice versa really.) It was so subtle, but I loved that Sheldon looked right at HER when he said "support", because who would be the most supportive of him... Penny. And Jim Parsons is such a precise actor, I can't imagine that he doesn't know what he's doing.
I also completely agree that had Sheldon not made an exit, there would have been a 'maudlin display of emotion' from Penny. I will now pause to imagine how lovely that would have been in my head... aaaaaaaaaaand, done.
Meanwhile, our non-canon couple continues to get moments (both big and small) highlighting their growing love and affection for one another.THIS THIS THIS

I was so pleased not to hate this episode. I was expecting to, and then...total Sheldon pwnage of same. Seriously, he was so sweet and adorable and human. Yes, it would have been great to see it explored more, but they only had twenty minutes to do it in, and we had Sheldon-y goodness in most of them. Enough to block out the disgusting bit, redeemed by the gentlemanly 'good night, sir...miss.' (And - moving the furniture? Hello, upper body strength.)
Totally agree with the succint crit. Poor JG has so little to work with, and what he has is bad.
...distracted by the sexy that is Sheldon in the dark sweater again, sorry. Notice there had to be wine again (and whine again) but I love that Leonard was all 'don't be scared' and Penny was 'hell to the no" Go Queen P! I wanna see 'Slugger' go Nebraksa on someone's ass someday. (preferably with the slayer scythe, but...)
I have nothing more to add here. Except - Sheldon and the 'mothership' *snerk* And - Penny sat in his spot!
The taping report set it up to be quite bad, so I was hopeful that knowing the worst would allow me to just enjoy it, and I pretty much did.

This, and I think the former was mostly the point of the episode. To make viewers FEEL for Sheldon.
Honestly, if I were Galecki, I'd want Leonard/Penny over and return to the sweet Leonard because they are doing him no favors at all. *sigh* I want to like Leonard, I really, really do.

And the smug little look from Raj at the end? Comic gold!

I also agree that particular scene was nice for Leonard too. Especially, "Didwewin? Canwegotobed?"
BTW, is it cool if I friend you? I figured since I have already proposed marriage to you, it seems to be the proper and ladylike thing to do. ;)

Yeah, this was one of only three moments in which I liked Leonard in full. *sigh*
