Cast Dream Actors as TBBT Family Members!
Admittedly, I haven't thought much about this as I only have four names, but I figure we could all have fun with this during this period of no-new episodes. I was thinking on the family members that we haven't seen yet and who would be our dream actors in the roles. So, here are all the family members they've mentioned (thank you, breakdowns!).
Sheldon - brother, grandmother, Aunt Marian, father (deceased)
Penny - father (his name is Bob), mother (presumably, there's been no mention that she's dead), brother, sister
Leonard - father, brother (his name is Michael), sister, (a hairy) Aunt Edna, six balding uncles
Raj - grandmother, brother, cousin Sanjay (all in India)
Howard - Uncle (who lives in Santa Monica), Aunt Barbara, dad
These are the ones I've come up with -- and I plan to steal/edit in any great suggestions from you guys. :) -- and all of them have brilliant comedic talent so would fit right in.
Sheldon's grandmother -- Betty White (on the left), if we're going for soft and sweet, or Frances Sternhagen (on the right), if we're going for stubborn, but sweet.
Sheldon's Aunt Marian -- Allison Janney, I'd actually prefer her as Penny's mother, but she does look a little like Jim Parsons, Laurie Metcalf and Courtney Henggler, so ... Frankly, I just love her to bits AND she did guest-star on Two and a Half Men a few years back, so she's worked with Lorre recently!
Penny's mother -- Again, Allison Janney just because it would be awesome having someone who's as good as (okay, I adore Janney, so I'm actually going to say she's better, but I think she's an acting goddess, so there's that) Metcalf and Christine Baranski as the mothers. Looks-wise, she can play more of the Midwestern type, but Janney's really tall & dark-haired, so this would probably be pushing it.
Yeah, she can be Aunt Marian! Because Lisa Kudrow would be perfect as Penny's mom. She even has the light green eyes too! OR Bonnie Hunt who would be perfect in a completely different way. AND, she's got the light green eyes too, LOL!
Penny's dad (Bob) -- I so want this now that I've thought of it because he would be perfect! Ted McGinley! Back in the day, he was blonde, plus, he has green eyes similar to Kaley Cuoco's. When he was younger, he was teen-dream gorgeous, plus, he's a wonderful comedic actor with sitcom (Married with Children) background.
Leonard's dad - Eugene Levy. He plays such a hopeful sad sack so well, and that's rather how I envision Leonard's dad. The only question is, where do Leonard (and Michael with my dream casting below) get the curly hair?
Leonard's brother (Michael) - David Krumholtz. Totally.
I know, I know, no Adam Baldwin, but I think he's too old to be Sheldon's brother because I think he's too old to be Laurie Metcalf's son, and too young to be his dad, unless they do flashbacks when Sheldon was much younger, but then we wouldn't have Adam Baldwin/Jim Parsons on screen, so ....
