This was far from being my fav episode ever...but after a 2nd watch...I think it's an ok episode. Loved Sheldon's 'helloo'. Loved Penny's 'Yo Raj talk to me!' LOL Only thing I hated and still hate in this episode is the mocking. I know it's important for the GA to have Sheldon humiliated to show them that he's human and has a heart...but it bugs me to no end! I know he has a heart and feelings. But if all of this is done on purpose, for Sheldon to grow, in order to establish the foundations of S/P...then fine! So be it! But it breaks my lil' heart! ;)
It really did improve upon a rewatch. (I do wish we didn't have L/P snuggling in the intro though, that makes me that scene cringe-worthy, cuz, just UGH!)
This was an average episode for me but I still laughed loads. Felt bad for poor Sheldon, with all the mockery, but glad that he rallied (with some help. I also thought that Sheldon saying Raj and Leonard were part of the prank on Kripke could be viewed (in a really skewed way; I know he was only being sweet given their encouragement) as payback for them laughing at him earlier. Some good moments right through. Plus Simon sounded pretty good to me :P
I don't know if you've rewatched it, but it really improves the second time around. In fact, I realized the second time watching that Kripke was fine as Sheldon's nemesis in this episode. I think he's working for me now.
I have but only once more and Simon's scenes stood out more for me. I'll need to see it again.
I think my "problem" is that I'm just super-sensitive to anybody treating Sheldon negatively and it really does bias me against that person. What's weird is Leslie didn't bother me as much as Kripke does for some reason. I'll figure it out.
In an episode that I didn't like very much, this was a strong highlight. Having a more famous actor guest star as themselves is a TV tradition that goes all the way back to "I Love Lucy", with John Wayne of all people. IMHO generally it doesn't work. I didn't really like the Wil Wheaton plot earlier this season as an example.
I did work here, because she didn't play herself, it was "realistic" for her to be Howard's fantasy and a mechanism for him to debate himself. It was unique and I liked it. It would be a nice twist for her to be the voice of his previously dormant conscience where women are concerned.

I absolutely adored Sheldon's "hello" and " Yo Raj Talk to me."
Not my favourite episode but it did have some good moments :D
I overall really liked Howard in the episode and thought Simon Helberg did wonderfully with the ending.

Also, I support anything that will bring more Katee Sackhoff to television! Even if it's as Howard's imaginary friend.
