You're not in the minority as far as I am concerned. This was hands down probably my favorite episode this season. I actually loved everyone again. It fell back into the complete rhythm of everything I loved in Season Two with all of the guys getting to shine, and all five characters back in their normal routine of being friends, which is what makes the show awesome! And now I shall end my commenting and relive it with your 'Awesome Particulars' section. =)
I don't think you're in the minority. While this didn't make me laugh as much as TGD, I did think it was very solid and had some excellent character growth and developement. I think I didn't laugh as hard because of the clips that were out that spoiled some of the laughs for me. Still, a very good episode.
And Sheldon's "I have your kite" bit will stick with me forever. Brillant line.
Well, I laughed the most during the Sheldon/Raj/Howard scenes in "The Jiminy Conjecture" and about busted a gut during the Sheldon/Raj stuff in "The Pirate Solution," but as a whole, this episode was definitely tops. I laughed throughout the whole thing, and not just one of the plots. It's definitely the first watch over from start-to-finish episode for fun (and not breakdown-age) for me this season.
"Revenge of the Nerds which included Arnold Poindexter (one of the nerds) as played by Timothy Busfield, and being the type of film that -- based on the little we know of him -- Sheldon's father would have watched."
True but you don't have to have ever seen that movie to know what Poindexter means. It's a common name used for nerds.
I couldn't read the whole S/P shipper analysis.. too much L/P for me.
I... I don't know how to feel about this episode. Hit and miss I guess. I wound up not thinking much of most of it. Like I'm just waiting around for my show to be hilarious again. Sure there were things I laughed at but the only time I really laughed hard was while Howard was staring freakishly sexually at Raj and talking to him in that lower register that sounded almost naughty.

Which was the very first point I made in the write-up: The reference is likely to one of three things. Firstly, just the generalization of the name as relating to a nerd. I then later wrote that if it was a specific reference, it was likely for that film. If you have issue with some of my write-ups, please actually read them fully before you ding me on them. Thanks.
As for the S/P analysis, right now, L/P is the story and how it fails relates, I believe, to how S/P will succeed.
