This idea has been nagging at me for days. I'm not a writer by any stretch of the imagination, so I hope somebody finds this inspiring.
A common theme I see in S/P fics is Penny realizing her feelings for Sheldon first, then either trying to hide them or nudge him along into realizing his own lurve for her. Thanks to Sheldon's cluelessness about most social situations, that premise makes absolute sense. But....
I wanna see the flipside. Sheldon has an epiphany, gets jealous, diagnoses all those tinglely feelings he gets around Penny, anything. But he gets it first. Then he tries to figure out how to make Penny see it- wacky scheme, awkward heartfelt chat, logical explanation why they're perfect for each other, whatever.
