Fiction Friday: June 19 - Individual Challenge!
This week's Fiction Friday challenge is....... THE END OF THE WORLD!
How will Sheldon, Penny, and the gang deal with it? Can they stop it? Do they try and fail? Do they have to live with the consequences? Is there even a way to survive? Have the boys been asked by the government to avert certain doom? Do they believe they can avert certain doom but no one believes them? Does Penny somehow save the world with her common sense and rodeo skills? Are they forced to flee or take shelter... or even fight? Are they the only survivors? How do they cope with any of that? Do Sheldon and Penny find love in the rubble?
As you can see, there are plenty of options for this type of scenario and with four brainy guys and one practically savvy girl there are tons of ways for them to deal with it. Here are the two challenge options:
There will be two options for you to choose from [although you can do both if you are so inclined] depending on how inspired you are, how much time you have, and how much you want to write. We don't want to make any of the challenges prohibitively long so hopefully this allows our drabblers and writers who are pressed for time the chance to get involved as well.
Option #1: Create your own Doomsday Scenario.
Go ahead and make up your own end of the world story! Anything and everything goes. The only requirement is that it be 1000 words or more. Here is a great site for reference! Exit Mundi
Option #2: Write a drabble for the Doomsday Scenario I'm providing below.
This is the option for those of you who don't have enough time for a longer fic, or don't have any major inspiration. Go ahead and just drabble using the following idea for your starting point. These drabbles have no word limit, and feel free to just drabble tiny pieces of the story. You don't have to write it all!
STARTER SCENARIO:
The gang is going about their normal lives not long after the boys return from their summer expedition, but just when they think things are back to normal... disaster strikes! Something horrible is happening and no one is sure exactly what it is. There are earthquakes, flooding, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, and other freak natural disasters all around the world and the boys have been asked by the US Government to help solve the mystery before it gets any further out of control! Working frantically to find a solution things become even more confusing and complicated when they find out that Penny has gone missing! Where did she go? Is she ok? What is causing this crisis? AND WHAT DOES THE MYSTERIOUS NOTE TAPED TO PENNY'S DOOR MEAN?
