Session 3: Fiction #2
ALTERNATE UNIVERSE
UPDATE: WAVE #2 HAS ENDED. THE POST HAS BEEN LOCKED UNTIL WE CAN TALLY THE CURRENT POINTS. AFTER WE TALLY, WE'LL REOPEN THE COMMENTS SO THAT YOU CAN EARN MORE POINTS THROUGHOUT NEXT WEEK.
This week’s fiction challenge is a prompt table race with the theme of AU.
This is a race! That means that the first 3 fills for each of the 50 prompts--one for the 250-500 word bracket, one for the 500-1000 word bracket, and one for the 1000+ word bracket--will receive the points. If a prompt is filled, then move on to a different one. There will be threads below for you to reply to with links to your fills.
PLEASE POST YOUR COMMENT UNDER THE RIGHT PROMPT AND WORD COUNT!
You will notice that our prompt table currently has 25 prompts and 25 places that say "TBA" (to be announced). This is because we are staggering the release of our prompts in order to accommodate people living in various time zones and keeping various schedules. We hope this gives everyone a fair chance to grab some prompts!
The second wave of prompts will be posted at 1 PM EST/12 PM CST/10 AM PST/5 PM GMT.
Participation in this challenge:
To be counted, you must comment to this entry with your fic--or a link to your fic posted at your own journal--with your team name in the comment title. You can be inspired in any way you want: literal, figurative, referencing, etc; and you can reuse prompts. This is another simple participation challenge, so now is the time to get points for your team!
Points for this challenge:
Because this challenge is a little more competitive, the fics are worth more points.
- 250-500 words: 20 points
- 500-1000 words: 30 points
- 1000+ words: 50 points
PLEASE NOTE:
When the second wave begins, all unfilled first wave prompts will be locked. When the second wave ends on Sunday, the unfilled first wave prompts will be unlocked.
You may then fill any unfilled prompt (from either wave) from Sunday until next Friday. However, you will receive the standard points for any story written in that time. (15, 15, and 25 points respectively.)
