These are the things we need to remind us, how good this show can be when it actually plays to it's strengths and uses what it has.
The trio of Raj, Howard and Leonard work so well together - even the off-colour creepiness of Howard and Raj was vaguely amusing. These guys have timing, a Three Stooges vibe that works - the duo are good, but the trio flies.
But, of course - this is the episode that brought me back into the fandom, really opened up the door to a hope (which is being sorely tested at the moment) of just what this show could be, and was capable of.
Which makes what is has been doing all the more heartbreaking. I just want to sit a few folks down with this episode, TWSN as well, and just ask them to please look again at what they have here. Chemistry. If they are truly committed to going down the 'organic' route, rather than 'rigid plan', this should tell them everything they need to know about that
( ... )
How do you put into words (such good words) everything that I think? This show *can* be awesome, just look back at season 2. This is still my favorite. It had everything. Heart, humor and that little ship that we cherish so much. Season 2 was all about Sheldon/Penny.
TPTB probably freaked out because all of that just disappeared...*sighs*
I do hope a big twist for season 4. To keep me going.
Are you lurking about in my brain? Because these are my exact thoughts. Some people really need to be hit over the head with a frying pan and then, once they regain conciousness, they should be sat down and forced to watch this epi until they FIX THIS SHOW!
Definitely watched TADD today. Make sure everyone here tunes in so that the makers know which episodes the audience really likes and which ones get the good ratings. THIS episode, also the episode where Sheldon trains Penny with the chocolate, teached her Physics, and The Precious Fragmentation, have been my favorite episodes for far. Season 3 started off FABULOUSLY, but around The Maternal Congruence, mainly starting with The Psychic Vortex onwards, things started slipping down. Sad. Sigh.
