I hate finances...

I suppose that's only because our monetary situation is so bad right now... Bill sat down the other night and figured things out and as of that moment- we are spending $200/mo more than we are taking in, and that's just bills- no groceries or gas.  Eeek ( Read more... )

Rent-a-coder, girl! Sell your skills there!

And I have T-Mobile with 2 phones. We have 1000 daytime, unlimited nights/weekends/mobile to mobile, with 400 texts (the smallest package they offer) for each phone, and internet access on Don's, and it runs us $99 a month for the $70 a month plan after taxes.

But the service has been mostly great!

I'll give Rent-A-Coder a shot. Not sure if they can use someone of my somewhat limited, self-taught abilities, but i'll give it a shot.

I am just having NO luck in getting in to Flash. I've been trying to go through the tutorials included with it and I think I'm kind of "getting" it, but for some reason something always seems to frell up partway through and I keep having to start over again.... *sigh* I need a class or something, I think.

I just got Sams Teach Yourself Flash 8 In 24 Hours by Pillip Kerman, and it's pretty cool, although I also got Foundation ActionScript for Flash 8 to make up for how light the Kerman book is on AS. I'm about 6 hours through the first book, and so far, I've learned a lot more than I thought, but it's been almost exclusively centered on Flash's drawing tools (which is good because I had NO background there at all).

ActionScript is really the stuff I think I want to know about, since it seems to be quite dynamic and powerful. The Foundation book walks you through creating an entire fictional website, so that's even better for me. My current goal is to be able to build a complete product tutorial for ViewTracker at some point in the near future, so hopefully this structure will work best for me.

I'd like to get a class, too, but I'd have to pay for it out of pocket at this point and that's just a no-go. Wayne bought the books for me, so I tinker with Flash in the afternoons when things are slow.
