I read 72 books in 2008, not counting re-reads! (would have been 73 - tied with last year - if I hadn't gotten a copy of The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde with the last four chapters missing -- grr! I'm waiting for my replacement order to come in so I can finish)

You'd better get moving on that one! I liked it even better than Kushiel's Scion. I was at the bookstore the other day and drooling over Kushiel's Mercy in hardcover, but I'm going to be good and wait for the pb as always...

Wow, we have such similar tastes sometimes. I'm so happy you loved the Prydain Chronicles; they are possibly nearer my heart than any other books. Imagine growing up with that world and characters!

Also hated The Secret History, for identical reasons. If only I had known how pointless it was going to be all the way through, I'd have never kept on reading. NY Times Bestseller WHY?

I wish I had grown up with the Prydain Chronicles; I can only imagine how much I would have loved them as a kid, considering how much I loved them as a thirtysomething! :)

I was in such a bad mood when I finished The Secret History that B was like "Why did you bother to finish the book if you hated it so much?" I didn't even have an answer.
