What fantastic photos. I love the hue of blue. I'm smiling looking at them, reading about the funny little girls, the adorable no-touch boys, and the wack tourists who take their dirty plates away with them. ;)
How did the cardamom field smell, apart from like cardamom? Was it fantastic? Can you remember?
I bet that biryani was better than any you've had in an Indian restaurant! Is there any chance you were eating with the 'wrong' hand, if they do actually differentiate over there? Is there any chance the kids were giggling at that? :P
I don't think the cardamom smelt like anything other than cardamom! My senses were not too alert that day; I'd spent the morning throwing up the night before's dinner and was feeling quite weak!
The biryani was good, and we made sure we used the correct hand (it's right for eating, left for wiping your arse over there)! They were laughing more at our 'technique'. They showed us how to use all four fingers when scooping up food, rather than three as we'd been using. I hate it when people watch me eat normally, so you can imagine how it felt with them all watching and becoming hysterical over my sloppy hand technique!
Isn't it weird how we don't use our pinky fingers for, well, anything much really? Like the way we think if we stick it in the air, we can dress up/daintify or deny whatever we're doing with the others. As if it's even so offensive in the first place. Oops, excuse me with I overthink this.
("Right for eating, left for wiping, right for eating, left for wiping...")
Mmm, cardomom... except I was actually thinking of caraway seed when I wrote that. :X
