Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter Nine: Only You
“Hello?”
Yoochun flinched nervously. This was the first phone call he was making to his new boyfriend. Little had he expect the outrageous impact Junsu’s voice had on him.
“Do not chicken out Yoochun. You can do this!” Unfortunately, as hard as Yoochun tried, the poor man realised he wasn’t much of a good self-convincer. It also didn't help when Junsu’s soft rhythmic breathing over the speaker seemed to be emphasizing on every second that was passing. Yoochun mentally cursed himself for being so unprepared.
“Yoochun? Is that you?” Junsu’s high husky voice reached the desperate man’s ears as a melody. He could have sworn he felt his heart stop at every word Junsu voiced.
“Huh? Ohh! Heyy.. hey Junsu! Uhh.. How’re you?” Yoochun bit his lips, realising how the hollow that greeting had sounded. Staring at the mirror in front of him, his eyes widened at how red his cheeks were turning.
“I suppose I’m fine, Yoochun.” Junsu sounded tired. Yoochun took a glance at the clock hanging above him. A 0030 struck back at his face. “Damn it! I overlooked the timing part as well!” Yoochun wanted to kick himself so much for waking Junsu up, only to be wasting his time.
“Yoochun? Let’s go on a date tomorrow.”
Date? Yeah he did call Junsu up for a date. But the coward had lost all his mettle at Junsu’s voice. He didn’t even dare to...
Hold it.
Did Junsu just.
“Junsu! What did you say!” Yoochun swallowed hard in disbelief.
“Well, I figured that you called to ask me out. But since my alluring voice robbed you off your guts, I thought maybe I should be the man,” Junsu teased.
“Hey!” The embarrassed man frowned, “I just happened to misplace my script!”
“Script?!” Junsu laughed. He often saw paranoid students preparing drafts of scripts even for every single short speech. But to see his boyfriend doing it just to ask him out was just. Interesting.
“Yah! Quit making fun of me or I’ll reject your date!” Yoochun threatened impactlessly.
“Really? That’s too bad. In that case, I’m going back to bed. Bye!”
“What? Yah! You serious!?” Yoochun cried in despair.
“Nine thirty tomorrow morning, we’ll meet at Café Phantom for breakfast. Goodnight!” With that, Junsu ended the conversation.
For the first time in his life, Yoochun felt an urge to scream like a deranged fangirl seeing her idol, “JUNSU ASKED ME OUT!”
Ignorant to the foolish grin plastered on his face, the thrilled man climbed into bed, overwhelmed with anticipation and excitement his heart could barely take. Tomorrow would be a day he’d remember for a long long time, and he was sure to make it as memorable for his Junsu too.

“Junsu!” Yoochun searched frantically.
Yoochun had brought Junsu to the Underwater World on their first official date. Unfortunately an accident happened and the aquarium exploded. Yoochun was now separated from Junsu and panicked when he couldn’t see his beloved around.
“Yoochun!” He distinctly heard his name being yelled. Turning hundred and eighty degrees, Yoochun saw Junsu struggling with a stupid stingray, “Su!”
Soon, a fight broke out between the gallant Park Yoochun and the ruthless marine creature while Junsu cheered for his hero. When Yoochun finally defeated the stingray, an enthused Junsu sprang onto him, “Yoochun! You’re so valiant!” The contented champion started blushing as Junsu decided to reward him with a deep kiss…

“Music? Underwater world sure is advanced,” Yoochun mused as he responded passionately to Junsu’s kiss.

Yoochun tugged at his pillow, dragging it over his head as the unfamiliar tune of Mirotic blasted against the walls of his bedroom. Junsu had been sending different songs to his phone the previous day. This ringtone must had been one of his works too. (Yoochun vaguely recalled Junsu saying something about him being a boring man and having to learn to appreciate Dbsk's music and such.)
“UGHH!” Throwing the innocent pillow at the offending device, Yoochun sighed in annoyance when he missed his target. Irritated that his sugared dream was ruined by this unwelcomed phone call, the grumpy man grabbed the loud sounding handphone furiously. Without even looking at the caller’s ID, he answered it, yelling aloud to display his displeasure, “What!?”
“Uh I was wondering if I should wait a little longer. But I guess this means no,” came the reply.
“JUNSU?” Yoochun finally awoke to his senses. Sitting up straight, he saw the rude clock screening a big 10 00 straight in his face.
“Junsu! I’m late for the date!”
“Oh, so you do remember we have a date? For a moment, I thought you were heading to war with that attitude of yours.” Junsu sounded anything but happy, which did not appeal to Yoochun very much.
“Sorry baby, I was dreaming of you. You see, I had to rescue you from this stupid...”
“Now, don’t even try that on me! You have ten minutes or I’m leaving!”
Yoochun smiled despite being hung up. He could image the look on Junsu’s face then. He knew Junsu would be pouting with a frown that was so adorable anybody would want to kiss away.
“Kiss away!? Nobody’s kissing my boyfriend!” Yoochun muttered in horror as he stumbled hurriedly into the bathroom.

“Junsu!” Yoochun approached Junsu at his seat and hugged the surprised man from behind, savouring the proposed vanilla fragrance of his lover as he nestled into the soft hair. For a moment, he felt like panting hard so that he wouldn’t miss out any of the offered scent.
“I said nine thirty!” The upset boy stood up to face Yoochun and presented his watch in front of the latecomer’s eyes, only to earn a grin from the man at fault in return.
“Baby, you look great,” Yoochun held down the exhibited hand and pulled Junsu into an embrace, kissing the confused man on his cheek.
Junsu was about to argue further when Yoochun suddenly placed a finger on his lips, stroking them gently as he whispered darkly, “Will I turn diabetic if I savour these early in the morning?”
Junsu pursed his lips tight. Yoochun was being extremely cheesy today. Wondering if he had been working on those lines the whole night, a little smile formed on Junsu’s pretty face.
“Yah! Don’t do that!” Yoochun turned away from Junsu.
“Don’t do what?” The innocent boy stared back, confused.
“Don’t tempt me with that smile. You know I can’t resist pretty stuffs.” Yoochun definitely had a lot of antics today.
Junsu chuckled in amusement. Pulling the block of cheese to sit beside him at the table, he signaled a waiter over to take their orders. Junsu watched as the hungry man read the menu.
Yoochun was a very special man. His life was not complicated, yet too knotty for anybody else to comprehend. Junsu knew that Yoochun lacked security. His thoughts were always open, unwittingly testing Junsu’s honesty. No, he hadn’t been lying to Yoochun. He never did. But Junsu could not say any more, at least not to Yoochun. He didn’t want to hurt the man he loved, and whom loved him too.
What should he expect? A bright long future with a beautiful fairytale ending? Or a tragedy God already planned in mind? A tragedy that he knew he was involved with.
“Junsu.. Junnie. Su baby? Su su!” A chain of pet names broke Junsu’s thoughts, bringing him back to Yoochun’s side.
“Huh?” Junsu sat up straight and looked at the concerned man.
“You don't look so good. Are you alright?”
Junsu nodded with a little smile, a smile he hoped Yoochun would accept without asking further. To his relief, Yoochun returned an understanding smile and squeezed his hand, not intending to probe on.
“Hey which name do you like better? I think Susu sounds adorable!” Yoochun beamed.
“Professor Kim,” Junsu laughed as Yoochun frowned disapprovingly. The student had almost forgotten that Junsu was actually his teacher.
Changing the topic, Junsu asked, “Where are we going after this?”
“Underwater world.”

As soon as they stepped onto the conveyor belt, Yoochun started scrutinizing and literally annotating his surroundings. He squinted at faults on the glass walls and gadgets that seemed like they might trigger any explosion in the huge aquarium.
“Look! That’s a Vermiculate River Stingray!” Junsu pointed excitedly as the creature floated above him. Yoochun blanked out at the unfamiliar term. He took a last look at what he thought was a crack on the aquarium wall before turning to Junsu.
“Baby, don’t make feel as though I’m dating an encyclopedia,” Yoochun begged. The last thing he wanted was Junsu naming the whole aquarium.
“Too bad you’re dating Professor Kim. I do have my standard you know?” Junsu winked.
“And I’ll let you know what it takes to be dating Micky Park Yoochun!” Yoochun said as he pinched the poor boy’s cheeks, earning an adorable yelp.
When the man finally let go, Junsu rubbed painfully at his cheeks and sulked, “Yah! There’s gonna be a bruise!”
“Great. That'll symbolize you as my property,” Yoochun grinned proudly. But when Junsu’s pout deepened, he began to feel immense regret. If Changmin’s pout was irresistible, Junsu’s must be divine. And god knew how much he hated to see Junsu upset.
Bringing both hands up to cup Junsu’s face, Yoochun leaned in slowly to kiss the assaulted area. Junsu’s sweet scent enticed his entire mind while the heated cheek warmed his lips, silently encouraging him to go on.
Sensing no resistance from the man in front of him, Yoochun allowed his lips to sashay towards the rim of his goal, leaving a trail of tender kisses along the way.
Not wanting to scare Junsu, Yoochun pulled back thoughtfully. This made Junsu open his eyes in surprise. Yoochun smiled upon realising that his boyfriend had been enjoying the moment a second ago.
“Will it be your first kiss?” Yoochun asked, looking deep into Junsu eyes. He clearly recalled the first time he saw those eyes. They were full of emotions; fear, anger, disappointment, pain, confusion. They were nothing like what he was staring into right now. Junsu’s eyes displayed a want for love, a need for love, a place for love. And Yoochun was determined, to conquer that place in Junsu’s heart all by himself.
“What if it is?” Junsu tilted his head to the side, seemingly thinking of a possible answer from Yoochun.
“Well I want it,” the short reply pleased Junsu, and Yoochun knew it. Pulling the boy a tad closer to himself, Yoochun pressed his forehead on the other and whispered, “Can I have it?”
“No,” Junsu’s ignored rejection was muffled when his lips got captured by another. He felt himself drown in Yoochun’s charm while the other devoured Junsu’s sweetness eagerly. It was like a dream they shared coming true, one that both had been pursuing, that both had chosen to believe in, that both were willing to hold on to.
Yoochun placed one last peck on Junsu’s nose before stepping back, “Too bad you’re dating Micky Park, Professor Kim. I do have my standard, you know?” Then, clutching onto Junsu’s hand, he dragged the smaller sized man towards the exit of the aquarium.
“Yoochun! What are you doing? I’m not done with the Dasyatidaes!” Junsu stumbled as he tried to follow at his partner’s pace.
“It’s too dark in here. I’ll rather look at you than those sea things. Besides, I don’t fancy having fishes looking at us when we make out,” Yoochun tightened his grip around Junsu’s hand as he continued to walk on.
Junsu kept quiet for a moment, visibly thinking about something else, “Yoochun. Earlier, did you call yourself… Micky?”
Yoochun held on to Junsu’s hands while stepping off the conveyor belt, “Yeah. That’s my forename.”
“I never knew that,” a curious Junsu puckered his brows as he recalled times when he marked the attendance in class, “It’s not on the class’s namelist.”
Yoochun’s smile faded, “It isn’t registered in my birth certificate. I gave that name to myself…” He stopped. How he had taken the name in high school to escape from being himself wasn’t a simple thing. The man could see that Junsu was waiting for an explanation as to how that name had came about. Nonetheless, as much as he did not mind sharing his story with Junsu, he did not want to ruin the man’s spirits either.
“Long story. I’ll tell you about it another time,” Yoochun assured and Junsu nodded considerately.
“Junsu, let’s play at the fountain pool,” Yoochun suggested with a sparkle in his eye, pointing to the fountain a few metres away. Several kids were playing in there, giggling in delight as water sprinkled from the ground.
“But we don’t have extra dry clothing. And we really… Yoochun!” Junsu nearly fell as he got towed away for the second time that day, this time in the direction of the fountain.
/
“Ahhh!” A high pitched shriek amused Yoochun as he successfully splashed water at his beloved victim.
“Park Yoochun! Are you trying to drown me!” Junsu yelled, wiping his face as water dripped from his hair. Shaking his head at his own sight, Junsu wondered how they were going to go home in that state.
“Junsu!” Yoochun suddenly clung himself onto Junsu’s soaked back, wrapping his arms around Junsu’s waist like a li, “Have you heard of the legend behind this fountain?”
Junsu shook his head, allowing Yoochun to enlighten him.
“After this fountain was constructed, there was this couple who visited it every day. But one day, the man evaporated into thin air…”
“EVAPORATED!?” Junsu choked.
“Yah! I can’t remember what happened to him! But the girl continued coming to the fountain alone. It was said that she cried her eyes blind, that’s how this pool came about.”
“So we’re drenched in tears now?”
“We’re drenched in love, baby.”
Junsu smiled. Despite the cold wind tugging at their wet bodies, he felt comfortably warm. He believed it was love, hot scorching love that kept him warm.
“Yoochun,” Junsu snuggled into Yoochun’s neck.
“Hmm?”
“I love you.”
