We both had the day off of work,
so I threw some extra blankets into the trunk, packed our picnic basket with a lunch of cold homemade fried chicken, pink lady apples, toasted naan and watermelon,
added a few icey bottles of Virgil's for Mr. Matt,
and we headed down to

Our 4th of July weekend was generally quiet and relaxing. Friday, Sarah and I enjoyed a lunch out; we were going to see a movie, but Sarah was not feeling well from her sunburn. We returned home and I worked on the D&D campaign (which is getting into the climax portion), and we watched the neighborhood fireworks a bit.
Saturday, we managed to get to the movies and watched Hancock, featuring Will Smith. I enjoyed it, but his origin made less sense than it should have...
Sunday was visiting my family, buying some frames, and getting a map laminated for use in D&D. In between all of that, I was revelling in a huge spike in views of my Wordpress. I was also enjoying replying to some of the comments I received.
Other than that, we took it easy. And ate hamburgers. With cheese.

We went clamming, ate a lot of food with clams in it, got some more clams, ate some more clams, went to the beach and brought a ton of clams home... there were a lot of clams.

Other than the Kid With a Head Trauma part, mine was pretty nice. Had some time ALONE in my apartment for the first time (yea!), spent the evening of the 4th in a way more low key way than had I gone to Lahaina with award level fireworks and four million tourists, got put in charch of preparing the steak for BBQ and hit a great combination and then I even met a VERY INTERESTING new friend (nod, nod, wink, wink) with lotsa potential.
Oh and btw - skipping over the scary part, I'm typing this from home, having retrieved my son from the hospital and am still practicing that thankful thing. ;-)
