LOVE THIS.

Oh John, he intrigues me SO much.

So dark, so torn, so caught between dad and hunter.

I love that there's still so much room for interpretation with him. I'm on sort of a side-character kick lately, and he's fun to explore. :)

This was a really good story, and I can easily see John making that decision. I don't believe that he could listened to that message and do nothing.

That is exactly what sparked this. How could they not at LEAST show that it upset him?

Thanks for reading!

It seemed like sort of a logical step for him to take. From what little we know of him, anyway. :)

Thanks for commenting!!

Exactly! It's bugged me from day one that some thinks he's a mean bastard that doesn't care.. If he had been, I don't think Sam & Dean would be the way they are..

I've always been sure John's had/have reasons for staying away. And after Journey Home & Faith it's so clear that he's pained by his own seperation from his boys..

Wow. You know, I hate the old bastard like crazy, but you made me feel sorry for him. Good insight into a complicated character. I especially like how you've highlighted the ambivalence of their fight against evil.
Very well done indeed.

Thank you! It's always a huge compliment when I've made someone look at another side of a character. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I personally am convinced that, as screwed up as his life and his choices have been, John really wants the best for his sons.

I love that John still tries to fatherly in his own way, taking on the "whatever it takes" on Sam's behalf...because they both know that Sam *needs* Dean. Great piece.

They all need each other, I think. Know it or not, like it or not, they're family. :)

I'm so glad you liked this!
