Working in retail over Christmas is hellish. I did last year, but thank dog I'm not this year.

She's focusing on her professional writing and fandom is too much of a distraction. Sadly we can't pay the bills for her in our squee (though I think we all agree that the world would be much better if we could).

One of my step-sister's works for American Airlines and she's working every day from 2 PM - 11 PM or 12 AM, even Christmas.
Work just sucks the fun out of everything.
