Getting crafty

Had a very exciting day yesterday.  One of the girls from work, her grandmother and I went to the yearly craft show.  I am still drooling.  OMG it was amazing.  I was very restrained though and only purchased a new cross stitch frame and of course a cross stitch to work on with it.  It's a newer system call Q snap and it's designed to put less ( Read more... )

I think the lime green could be fantastic. You've already got shades of orange with the tile floor in terracotta, so you could put touches of that to pull it into the rest of the space. Since beige and brown are neutrals, I think you can probably get away with just about anything.

On the table, I've seen a few places where people butted the end of their dining table against the wall and put an oversized mirror on the wall to make the space look larger. You could get just the mirror without a frame to be cheaper and construct a frame of sorts out of fabric, like a thin curtain around it. Plus, when you're crafting, use it as a magnetic board to hold an instruction paper up.

I have considered terracotta accents but I shall have to go shopping to find some inspiration.

I am not too worried about the appearance of space. Our loungeroom and dining room are part of one large room and the renovations opened the kitchen into that space as well, so that makes it all very open plan. What I have to watch for is not to overload it with furniture. (Says she of many bookcases)
