“What happened between the lot of you that my mother and Aunt Kari felt the need to tell me lies about Rune and write you out of history altogether?”
“It’s…complicated,” he says.
“Do you have any idea how tired I am of that word? Everything’s complicated, It seems. What happened with you?”
Tristan chuckles at that and she decides then and there that he’s just as infuriating as Rune. “All right,” he says. “I’ll make it simple then. I died.”
