Life will never, ever be as sweet as it is right now. I know that. I'm afraid of that. Afraid of how great it is now and how now is so temporary. Our parents are young, healthy, active. You might look into using honey for a nighttime cough if he has one, and Vaporub on his chest for the congestion. Both have helped Finn in the past. I'm pretty sure Vaporub makes some concoction for cool mist humidifiers, as well.

Also - in my limited experience, it seems to me that each stage of life brings with it such different types of sweetness that it's difficult to compare one to the other. You're right - there is much to love and enjoy about being young yet independent new parents, but I look at Marla, who is still young but not new at parenting, and see that she adores the stage she, her husband, and their children are in now just as much as she did the earlier ones they shared, if not more. And though they both have their complaints, I see a joy in Mom and Tom now that I know they didn't have when they were struggling to balance marriage, work, three children, and a large extended family. So I think you may find life just as sweet in five, ten, fifteen years as you do now. :-)
