I worked 9 hours last Thursday. It was broken up, some in the day, some at night. My MiL watched Keats during the day, my Dad watched him at night. It was too much. Too much activity, stimulation, strangeness. For Keaton and for me. I realized that I don't want to work. I don't want him to be babysat for 8 hours a day. I'm just not ready ( Read more... )

good for you! There are plenty of sites with great ideas to make the ends meet while being home.

I've heard many say that they end up not spending as much as when they worked on things like food or clothes, and so the income hit wasn't as tough as they thought it would be. Plus, there are some tax advantages that help to balance it all out.

Hooray for going with your gut and doing what's right for you and your family!

Thank you, Summer! It's a hard thing to do, especially in this economic climate, but I think it's best and I can't see regretting it. It's just too fun playin' with him to give it up!

Aw, don't feel bad about it! I didn't expect to love this as much as I do. And I'm still working, just not full time. I can totally understand how never getting out would get VERY old.

Dude, I found a Continental flight leaving on a sunday returning on a thursday to Newark for $250! If we can swing it financially I think Keats and I will go in April. He flies FREE!

Congrats. :) Enjoy life. You've saved up a lot more than most. I'm happy you're getting to spend some more time with him. :)

Somehow we've avoided debt so we're very lucky! My savings will go quickly but I can't imagine a better use of it. He's such great fun! And Austin is a great place to be a momma. There're tons of things to explore. Fantabulous!
