FWIW, round ligament pain can be very sharp at times. It could have been that.

I remember the first time I thought I was in labor. I don't know what Thing 1 was doing in there, but I thought I was going to die. The pain was *so* intense, but then about 15 minutes later, it was completely gone. I still have no idea what that pain was about because it never reoccurred and when *real* labor began, it was nothing like the original pain (thank goodness).

Hey You!! How are you? How is Finn? How was it? I keep checking your journal for updates but I suppose you've got your hands full. :)

I have had much fun with the round ligament pain. I actually was convinced I had TWO hernias at first and when I told the midwife she laughed and explained about these round ligament things. It hadn't occurred to me that yesterday's pain could be related to that. Yesterday was WAY high, like almost breast-area, kinda behind my ribs and on my side and in my back, but all very high. Think that could be triggered by round ligaments? I suppose it's all connected.

I'm sorry you had that pain but I'm glad to hear it's normal! I guess when you've got a human in your gut, it's bound to cause some pain sometimes. I just was SO convinced something was majorly wrong that I freaked out. Now hopefully when the next pain comes I'll be calmer about it. Mom said "this is good practice." I am not used to feeling pain, so I think I need a LOT more practice before The Day.

To answer your questions -- I am a little sleepy, but otherwise great. Finn is a little "colicky" and has one hell of a case of baby acne, but otherwise perfect. And it was one hell of a rough, wild, wonderful ride (as you have probably gathered from the finally-updated blog). :-)

Did you ever figure out what the mystery pain was?

I loved reading your birth story, thank you! Seriously amazing.

And no, never found out what the pain was. Probably the little one just kickin' me or somethin'!

Thanks for posting about this. Now the rest of us will know not to freak out too much when we get blessed with all these things that go along with creating life.

Your mom is the best.

Did MM show you all the exercises you can do to strengthen/minimize the pain? And all the swimming? I think the swimming helped me the most. Ow! I had almost forgotten about all the random, scary painfulness.

I'm glad your weekend was overall well. Gotta love having a couple extra days of leisure! Any time for a smoothie break this week?
