Earthquakes

Two earthquakes in as many nights.

At around ten o'clock on Wednesday night, I felt this quake. That was weird - it was the first time I've ever felt a quake, and I was mostly just fascinated. I was also pretty tired. I had already gone to bed, and when the bed started shaking, my first thought was "where did the cat come from?" because it felt ( Read more... )

Here's to hoping it won't become a nightly tradition. o.o Apparently these are still aftershocks from the big one. You'd think those tectonic plates would settle down in their new positions, but no, they're still squirming. :P

Yeah, I've gotten kind of used to tiny quakes, but I'm in Kansai, and I always feel like it probably won't get worse. But where you are... yeah, it's freaky. It really is. *hugs*

*hugs*

Some of the other foreign students in the dorm freaked out a lot, because I heard a bunch of them rushing out into the corridor and talking.

It's funny, I've already been in Japan for 1 year 9 months total before this, and I've never experienced an earthquake before - and now there's two in two nights. I think those tectonic plates should go back to sleep already! :P

I'll live. I knew this is earthquake country, especially after the recent catastrophe, and I wanted to be here anyway. It's just a strange feeling when you experience earthquakes for the very first time.

Oh, it was. Japan is Earthquake Country, especially now when there are still aftershocks going on. And the other evening, the ground kept shaking softly almost constantly for hours, so I feel I can confidently say I'm used to it by now. XD
