OMG, Pete. And to think you almost didn't get out of bed! I have the same fear of being told nothing is wrong, and it's almost cost me my life. I'm glad you're in the process of treatment. Do keep us updated if you can. I'll be thinking of you.

That surreal feeling you get in the hospital--I guess I sort of experienced it recently when I was accompanying my dad there. Only with me, it was more "Uh, should I be doing something? Do I just sit here? Should I be checking to see if they need to ask me something or that they're not fucking something up?"
