Just a quick update for thos who didn't hear: The Conservative motion to re-open debate on same sex marriage is dead. 175 MPs voted agains it, including 12 Conservatives. High profile Tory MPs Peter McKay, John Baird and Michael Chong were among those who voted against their government's outdated line of thinking and I applaud them for it

I'm glad to see elements of redemption in members of the Tory government. Chong got it rolling when he left caucus, and I'm glad these three stood apart from Harper's heavily-whipped line.
Score Dion a solid first move, by letting his caucus vote freely. He made an excellent point, saying that a forced vote along party lines might be considered impetus for this issue to be debated yet AGAIN in the future.
Is there a comprehensive record somewhere online of how each MP voted?
