Hey, everyone! I'm new (I know, I know) to not only Shassie, but also Psych itself, and while I DEFINITELY intend to watch every episode eventually, I was hoping ya'll could recommend some of your favorite episodes with awesome Shassie moments. For instance, I've been watching some fan vids, and I haven't seen the episode where Shawn slaps Lassie's

I don't know of any manips, but I have other recommendations.

I would highly recommend reading almost everything by tera_gram. They have absolutely gorgeous, longer fanfiction with very believable characterization and evolutions of the relationship between Shawn and Lassiter. In particular The Heterosexual Freakout series, The Pineapple Series, and the Psych Out series. The single stories are great as well, but I love Pineapple of Hospitality and Spencer for Hire.

tera_gram is my favorite Psych writer, so I highly recommend reading everything though!

Right Place, Wrong Time by regann is one of my favorite pieces.

There's also quite a few people who have posted for Shassie recommendation fics on psych_finders that might have some good recommendations as well

I think this might be the fastest reply to a request I've ever gotten! I really, really appreciate it - I'm devouring everything I can find Shassie-wise. They're so adorable!

I've read a couple of Tera_gram's stories already, and they are definitely amazing and I will definitely go through all of them probably within the next couple of days - I have no real life due mainly to illness and am on the net nearly twenty-four/seven. Anyway, thanks again! :)

It's hard not to adore Psych even when there isn't all that much Shassie anyway, I've found, but I definitely love their interactions best

To Dinahqueen's excellent list of episodes, I would add: The Head, the Tail, the Whole Damn Episode, 65 Million Years Off, Cloudy with a Chance of Murder, Last Night Gus, SantaBarbaraTown 2, Talk Derby to Me, and Murder...Anyone...Bueller?

Huh, there really are a lot of episodes with decent Shassie moments!

I honestly believe - and have since before I heard about the part where Shassie is actually mentioned on the show in that one episode, even though as I said I really haven't seen very many eps yet - that the Shassie stuff is like (not very subtle at all) the true canon pairing. From what I've seen those two bicker and flirt and stuff with each other way more often than with their so called real romances. I think writers for TV shows these days check out fan fiction - well obviously but as stated I thought that before they outright mentioned it - to see what we like. Fan fiction - and maybe it's me but it seems like slash is bigger than het, at least these days - is exploding all over the place. Another show is Supernatural - I swore I wouldn't get hooked into Wincest 'cause it weirded me out, then I went and watched the show and ended up having to rationalize about how they're just characters and at least both guys so no poor kids with problems that make me wanna cry unless they have even more balls than they've already shown and go

Well, my biggest fandom experience has been with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where the writers definitely knew about fanfic, and when the series ended, the creator of the show basically said that he hoped the fans would go on writing fanfiction for the characters. It didn't bother him at all that a lot of the fic being written was slash.

I think that in a lot of cases, including Psych, the people in charge realize that a couple of the actors have particularly strong chemistry and so they give them good material to work with. And with a pairing like Shawn and Lassiter, there's always some tension between the characters because they do things differently, even though they have the same goals, and that makes them fun to ship, at least for me.

I didn't know about BTVS, though I'm a huge Spander girl and also indulge in quite a few other pairings in that fandom. That's awesome, I'm glad you told me about it

I know I'm really late to the party, but here's my two cents.

I third or fourth the suggestion of stalking tera_gram's work as one of the masters of the Shassie fandom, rispacooper as another, and defer to everyone else's episode recs as I am not on my Psych ball right now.

Though, I'm not sure why nobody's reccing that you go stalk trixietru's stuff, but you should also do that. You may have noticed one name popping up in this comm over and over in the more recent times, because trixietru is one of the few Shassie writers who's still truckin'. And it's good stuff, too. I particularly enjoyed Murder by Something Something, and there's probably a lot more stuff there that I love but can't remember the title of at the moment.

I wish I could just copy all my Shassie mems with a single click and share them with you. I don't remember what most of them are about, and black_sluggard hit a lot of them, but there's one that plays on the fact that Tim O was in Luck of the Irish and had Lassie stepdancing in it. Step Lively Now by cdewildesatisfied the need for stepdancing Lassie very
