Hmmm, more than you want to go to China?

no, same. China holds so much appeal, but much of what i seek is dying there. Zen still functions in quite a capacity in Japan, from what i understand, and while not all sects are the same, the Soto sect is the Japanese to which my tradition runs parallel. They have a culture and a history that excites me just as much, and certainly far more then Europe. I want what they can show, both ancient and merely past. also, I want to see Nagasaki and Hiroshima for myself. I actually planned on going in august next year, for the commemoration. there is so much there. the swords, the ninjas, Japanese flute, Noh Drama. These things aren't present like they were in the headspace of japan that i live in, but i'm sure i will still see them. It's also to see how evolution has taken it's course from the years that I study, the age of the warrior, to now. so many things

If everything this year goes according to my masterplan, I'll be living in Osaka by then, and if thats the case I may even be able to put you up for a week or two and get you free entry to the universal studios theme park. Thats a pretty big IF on the masterplan though.

Living in Osaka? Working for the aforementioned park, or doing something else? And living there indefinitely? Are you learning Japanese? Lots of questions, cause it's exciting!

Keep me informed :)

Living in Osaka and working at the park on either an 8 or 13 month contract, with free accomidation and food, free access to 24 hour training facilities and free japanese lessons. The Auditions are around september and it is the best job ever if I can get it, the big if comes in when you find out there are about 20 spots available and they audition thousands of people worldwide over a period of about 3 months. Last year I made it to the top of the Australian audition but didn't get selected because you don't just have to be able to do everything they ask you to do, you also have to look like the part the want you for in the show they are hiring for. Still, I know I have the skills required, and by then I'll have gotten some of the skills that let me down a bit last time much cleaner so you never know.

Having never even stepped foot on a plane, i'm not the most worldly person around. but if i could go anywhere on this fine earth, it would be Japan.

Plus, i know how to count to ten in japanese. that's gotta help, right? Especially if something horrible happens and you run out of currency.

"Will count for ramen!"

yeah i'd be up for it.
I'm perhaps not as enthusiastic about japan specifically but definitely curious about other parts of the world. i'm always up for travelling.

I'm not too interested in going to Japan. How about I come to Australia instead? Oh... wait... I'm already going to do that!
