Well.

Gray has managed to arrive at the Cooper place, and after parking his stolen Dodge Viper beside the white Mini Cooper (ahaha the narration just got that), takes the scenic route back around to the front of the house.

He likes walking.

Jona has vague periphery experience of doubles. She just hasn't realised on quite what scale the farm is being invaded by Gabes and Grays and Sylars.

She peers as she passes him on her way to the kitchen. (She's not actually technically headed for the kitchen at this moment, but no matter where she goes she always seems to end up there. The once-wraithlike girl is filling out nicely.)

With open curiosity: "You're not the one with the sea monster, are you?"

She blinks.

"What, this world?"

"No."

Shrug.

"I was somewhere else first, yes. But most recently, we came from the east."

"Oh. I thought you probably weren't from here. Most people aren't. I'm not."

He couldn't be from her world, could he? He's dressed weirdly, but then again he hasn't yet commented on her feet.

"Mine's called Karock," she prompts, but without much hope.

Headshake.

"I haven't heard of it, I'm afraid."

After the whole bit with the monochromatic girlfriend, he's got high standards for weird.

"No-one else has, either."

...this is intended as a statement to let him off the hook, but it comes out as somewhat melancholy. Dang.

A very small shrug.

"Sometimes it's better that way."

Jona doesn't know about them! Whilst she does harbour a flourishing talent for being spectacularly misinformed, when it comes to genuine gossip she misses out somewhat.

"Be nice if there was someone, though," she shrugs. Come on, no-one's even heard of Tryst, and that's the biggest city ever that she knows of. It's slightly disheartening when your birthplace might as well not exist.

"I suppose so, yes."

Gray prefers it when fewer people know things about him, really.

Shame that Jona's so nosy, then!

Back to her bushy-tailed (not literally; stop staring!) self: "Is your world nice?"

"Not often."

"Oh."

"What's it like when it is?"

"I don't remember," he admits softly. "It was a long time ago."

Jona goes :(.

Clearly she is asking all the wrong questions, here.

"Sorry."

Gray shrugs it off.

"You didn't know."

Which is a version of it's all right, at least.

Jona isn't quite sure how a hug would be received, so she has to settle for looking sympathetic.

"It's nice here, generally," she offers.
