A New Arrival

Charlie doesn't notice the multiple strikes of lightning, or the sudden weather storm that separates her from the other bus passengers. She's too busy trying to get an hour or two of sleep before they pull into Toledo, Ohio so she can change buses and head for Canada. And he makes a practice of stopping by every time he sees a new arrival. Just in case.

For the moment, the jury's out on whether or not this visit has proved fruitful.

"I didn't mean to frighten you." And look, he's raising his hands and stepping back slightly; she needn't know that he could kill her with a look, if it came to that.

(He needn't know that she could return the favour.)

It's instinct, the push that uncoiles in her center.

Training, that coils it back for later use.

She's tired of using aliases, and if Sylar is from the Shop, he'll know who she is anyway.
