Here is Gray.
His clothes are torn and bloodstained and he's sitting under what remains of the roof of an abandoned gas station, cross-legged on a space of floor mostly cleared of rubble, feasting on scavenged meal replacement bars which are (contrary to packaging) not at all delicious.
But he has his freedom, and therefore all is well.

Certainty has shattered like her city, and none of the normal routes will lead her back to it. And she's cold and uncomfortable, neither of which are sensations she's ever felt before or ever desires to feel again, and whilst she knows that this is because she has been fundamentally changed she does not know the full extent of it.
Nor, she senses, would she be any happier about this if she did.
She does still know things, though, and whilst she's not sure what good owning a damaged man in a wasteland will do, it is at least preferable somehow to wandering about with a concept she suddenly has that's called alone.
She doesn't use her key in the gas station door: it wouldn't lead anywhere she wants to go.
Cordially, she nods to him. "Gray."
(Yes, this connection is wonderful. Yes, she will get around to being properly amazed when she's not so damn cold.)

With something approaching gallantry: "I have a blanket."
And if she cares to come and sit by him, she may share it; he holds out a corner for the purpose, tucking his half-finished lunch back into its wrapper.
(Yes, this connection is interesting. Yes, he will get around to investigating it further when he's taken care of her chill for her.)

Ish, who despite pushing the boundaries of omniscience has very little grasp of that thing called personal space, is quite happy to come and share the blanket. Gray, she finds it sweet that you're worried about her body's temperature and its relation to her comfort levels. Have a cuddle.

It's as though they were made for one another.
And his arm closing lightly around her waist would indicate that he's not terribly displeased by the prospect.
Want a PowerBar, Intuition? They're not terribly appetizing, he will admit, but they get the job done.
