Somewhere over the skies of Metropolis, somebody was flying overhead, and observing everything. Nathan Petrelli's had some weird encounters of late, but that wasn't going to stop him from continuing to do surveillance. And just take advantage of the relatively quiet skies ( Read more... )

"Ooh. You're good at this whole archery thing." Sam notes, wandering over. He's almost completely healed up from his fight with Venom (though his powers sporadically cutting out has made healing a somewhat slower than usual process), but there's still a few rather unpleasant bruises, including one on his face.

"Let me try, let me try. Pleaaase?"

"My eyesight's a lot better these days. Just testing it out. And I've been good at archery, remember out west?"

Kate then offered him the bow and arrow, "All right, just take your time, and sight your target before firing."

She studied him some. "What happened to you?"

"Oh, nothing. M'powers cut out while sparring with Venom. Kept going in the hopes that they'd cut on again." Sam murmurs absently, examining the bow with a rather great degree of fascination. "Ooh. Bow-y."

Kate eyed him, "How often do they cut out?"

She watched him examine the bow, "It belonged to the first Hawkeye originally. Captain America bestowed it on me in his honor, along with his name." In other words, remember her temper? It's going to be super scary if anything happens to it.

Babs has somehow managed to make it to the back porch where she has a view of Kate at work. The girl is pretty good. Maybe as good as Mia, and that's saying something. You don't get that kind of skill without some pretty intensive, and nonstandard, training.

Very intensive training indeed. And within a short amount of time too. Tommy once called her olympic class, and he might be right.

She continued firing. Sometimes trying different angles, or multiple arrows fired.

Watching is one of Barbara's natural states, so this comes easily. It's not the accuracy that keeps her attention, it's the other stuff. Competitors don't need to work from different angles and do stuff with multiple arrows. That's something reserved for more... esoteric uses.

Trick arrows if she had some handy too. She then took a break to retrieve her arrows, and glanced over.

"Enjoying the show?" She dryly asked with a small smile.

Thrust is back on the farm again-- whatever he and Lucy did while they were out was apparently fun, at least if you can read Vehicon body language. Okay, sure, he's got a couple of claw marks on his sides (were he in his alt mode, it'd look like somebody with sharp claws was holding on for dear life), but he's also relaxed and downright cheerful as he hauls his refuelling station closer to the storm cellar ( ... )

Then Xander was noticing. not sure the hot pink color, but ooooh Transformer robot!

He might have briefly hummed the cartoon theme song as he finished up his work.

Hey, hot pink is a very manly color on Cybertron! It's the color of long-spilled energon. Shoot, it's practically goth.

But since it looks like Thrust's path-of-hauling has dragged him past a human, well, clearly the polite thing to do is at least nod and say, "Hey."

So he does.

And no, Thrust's greetings don't really get longer than that, not even when he doesn't have his hands full.

Xander was looking up and up, and that one working eyeball was blinking a lot. And there was slight itch in the socket hidden behind the eyepatch, also trying to blink too.

"Wow... uh hi!"

Mel is trying to figure out who on the farm has what skills, so finding a man carpenting is a big plus.

"Hey."

Xander glanced up, and grinned after he finished nailing a corner of support.

"Hey, how's it going?"

Mel shrugs, leaning against a convenient wall - the girls are with Sokka, so it's just her and her stakes right now.

"Just scoping out the farm, trying to figure out what we're working with. I'm Mel."

Xander wiped his hand self-consciously, and then offered it.

"I'm Xander, nice to meet you."

If the stakes were obvious, they were getting an interested eye at them.
