Madrox wasn't doing much. Just hanging out on the Cooper farm when suddenly he grabbed his throat and fell to the ground gasping for breath.

Yes... it was a tad dramatic. Then again Jamie isn't one for stoicism when dramatic things happen. That's Cable or Cyclops, Yo.

Mel had just set the girls down for a nap, and had intended to grab herself something to read from the house, but the gasp catches her attention and suddenly she's running.

By the time she comes across Jamie, she has one of her stakes out, just in case.

Jamie shudders a moment or two as his eyes roll back into his head for a second and seems to stop breathing for similar moment of time.

He then springs up from where he's sitting and breathing heavily. He spies Mel looking at him and holds up his hand as he catches his breath.

"Sorry," he says in a raspy voice. "I was-"

Jamie cleared his throat as the absorbed memories of his dead duplicates flooded back into him. "I was attacked in another city."

"Uh..."

Mel looks around, then sheathes her stake in one of her bandoliers.

"Just now?"

"Yeah," Jamie replied and then started coughing a bit before deciding that a demonstration would probably work better.

He slammed his fist on the ground creating a duplicate that stood over him.

"To explain," the duplicate said in a professorial tone, "Our unique genetic structure allows us to absorb kinetic energy and channel it through an unknown process to create identical duplicates of ourselves. Once a duplicate is created I/We can then absorb the duplicate back into ourselves and retain any information or skills that duplicate made have obtained while separated from me/us. Recently this transfer of knowledge know occurs whenever a duplicate dies no matter where or when that duplicate may be. Additionally more and more duplicates have taken on various parts of my/our personality while-"

Jamie pointed his hand at the duplicate and absorbed him back into him. "That's enough of that professor," Jamie groaned as he turned toward Mel. "I'm Jamie Madrox. And yeah. What he said."
