"Are you monologuing?" Comes Sam's voice from behind Venom as he materialises out of a long, snake-like tendril of golden smoke that had made it's way out of the house and up to the roof.

Sam grins, circling around also.

Eventually he leaps for Venom, throwing a punch towards his face. Above mouth level - He doesn't want his hand eaten.

[hates_spiders]

"Grah!" Venom, apparently, is none too happy about being socked right in the eyepatch.

And while, Sam's arm might be above Venom's mouth, that doesn't stop Venom from trying to change that. His tongue snakes out and tries to wrap around Sam's arm, in hopes of being able to yank it towards all those nasty, pointy teeth.

Okay, Sam forgot about the tongue.

There's a surprised yelp as his arm gets yanked down.

Venom's response to yelp is to just snarl and twist his head around in hopes of biting down at the arm-his current angle isn't great for it.

Sam swears, loudly, as Venom bites his arm.

He swings around his other arm to punch at Venom's stomach - Maybe if he hits Venom hard enough, he'll let go?

Sure enough, the punch in the stomach is enough to loosen Venom's grip. He lets go of the arm and punches back in reflex-but seeing as it's not particularly well aimed, the odds that the punch will connect are iffy.

Sam leans out of the way of it, taking a step back to circle Venom, just out of arm's reach.

[hates_spiders]

Venom watches Sam for a moment as he's circled, then thwips out another web line-hoping that this one doesn't burst into flames like the last.

Sam wasn't expecting that. He probably should have, but he'd thought that Venom wouldn't want to risk getting another flamey-bird-attack.

There's a cheerful yelp as the web line connects.

If there's one thing one should remember about Venom in a fight-he's willing to press his luck. As soon as the web line connects, he grabs the line and yanks it in attempt to drag Sam closer.

Sam stumbles towards Venom, fingers sparking as he attempts to use his powers and finds that they have, rather inconveniently, cut out.

[hates_spiders]

The failed attempt just makes Venom grin even larger than normal. "You seem to have a problem." And then he swings a fist towards Sam's head.

[broked_reality]

"Seems so." Sam is rather annoyed that they couldn't have cut out at a more convenient time.

That doesn't mean he's going to call of the sparring, however, even if that punch did send him stumbling (as much as he can when web lined) and really hurts.

[hates_spiders]

Venom tilts his head to the side. "And you want to keep going?" This is Venom being polite. If it was a normal fight, he'd just continue gleefully beating on Sam.

[broked_reality]

Sam considers this. On the one hand, if his powers return he'll be able to make a good comeback, and there's a good chance they might. On the other hand, right now he's a regular human, and Venom is superpowered.

"Yeah, sure. Don't see why not. I'll heal up quickly."
