Steph's kind of thinking it's probably actually been more than a few days since she was last here.

She can't figure out times exactly, but man, there's all sorts of people here that've got to have taken more than a few days to arrive. There appears to be a medieval castle and a skyscraper added to Shay's cargo liner. There's a long, low bunker

There is a snowman, in the snow. A big, roly poly snowman.

Whose head turns to follow Steph as she walks by.

[transbender]

"Uh..." He looks down at his hands, then back up at her. "Does what hurt?"

"Doing that." She gestures with her own solidly human fingers, small and calloused and with drops of melted snow clinging to her sleeve. "Stretching out and stuff."

[transbender]

"Oh, no!" He untangles his fingers, letting them snap back to normal. Well, snappish. It's all willpower, really. "The doc says it's something like each and every one of my cells has becomes a muscle in it's own right, so I can, like, alter myself by stretching the cells."

He reaches out both arms letting them extend a good ten feet apiece. "I try not to think about it too hard cause then it confuses me and I end up going all saggy." Or female.

"Super weird. But cool." She grins at him, tucking her hands into her pockets. "C'mon, let's go inside and get something to drink? You might not be cold, but I'm freezing, standing out here."

[transbender]

"Sounds like a plan to me!" He gives her one of his too wide smiles, and a low bow, indicating she should go first.

It's totally chivalary, he's not gonna check out her ass. Well, okay, maybe a little.

The smile gets a bemused one in return, and she goes ahead obligingly.

Steph was a superhero -- she spent most of her time running around Gotham in skin-tight Kevlar. She's generally oblivious to any checking-out that might be happening. It just doesn't really occur to her to think about it. (We will make the comment here that she still has the body of a superhero, though. Since he's looking.)

"You drink coffee, or tea?" she asks, when they're in the kitchen, making for the kettle. "I think they've got tea here. I made sure to grab a few jars of coffee when we went through New York, though."

[transbender]

"Coffee, deffently coffee." He makes a face. And when Thomas makes a face, it's actually a rather impressive sight. "Tea never really sits right with me."

Steph seems to think so, laughing. "Coffee it is. Tea's good sometimes, but sometimes you just want the coffee, right?"

[transbender]

"Never really liked tea." His eyes shift back and forth, looking at anything but her. "My parents used to make me drink it a bunch."

Steph looks into the coffee mugs carefully to make sure there's no dirt or anything in there.

"Yeah, parents can suck like that."

[transbender]

"Respect the traditions and all that shit, right?" He shakes his head, his mind awhirl with memories. Fuckin parents. "Stupid stuff, really."

Steph glances up at him, tilting her head to one side, slightly amused.

"...they just wanted you to respect their traditions?" she asks.

[transbender]

"They wanted me to follow the traditions. Do all the shit they used to do in the old country, right? But you do that shit in New York city, yer gonna get yer ass beat, like, for serious." Especially those fuckin dresses. "Got to change with the times."

"Yeah, I guess."

Steph can't really see what's so bad about having parents who want you to do traditional cultural things, and it shows in her doubtful tone, but she's trying.

"So you're from New York?"

[transbender]

He gives a nod of his head, trying to find something worth talking about. She hasn't seemed confused by his abnormalities, so maybe she's from the same place. "Yeah, I, uh, live in Jokertown."

Oh, god, this could get confusing, fast.
