Clark actually walks rather quickly away from the house, though he stops at the end of the long driveway and seems, at that point, to remember he's not alone. And he waits for Eden to catch up.

"Sorry."

He also appears to be debating which direction to go in.

Eden is tiny and it must be said she jogs a bit to catch up.

"Apologies accepted - unless you only meant that 'sorry' to be walking too quickly."

He frowns and glances at her briefly.

"No. Anything that needs an apology, you got it."

Eden smiles with a consoling expression but refrains from saying 'thanks', perhaps to stall any jokes connected to that word.

"Dragons are usually pretty territorial in the books." Beat. "Of course, in some books they also go on mating flights that make their rider horny as well. Oh, Pern," she says with an exaggeratedly critical air.

Eden can ramble even when she isn't in shock, thank you.

"She's not territorial, she's insane," Clark snorts.

Beat.

"Okay, she's territorial in a really weird sort of way and if you don't want to stay that's fine. I wouldn't blame you. I can take you wherever you want to go so long as we don't have to cross water."
