I just started doing this with Ghiroy as well. I found an elvish inspired font for Mikilo and different fonts for the other two as well. I SHOULD be doing the lettering by hand but really, the way I work, it doesn't make a lot of sense (often composition is my last step). I think more cartoonists should think like you do and integrate the words -into- the art instead of just falling back on the same old word balloons and comic sans. Looking forward to the elves!

I like the idea of the "ornate font for emphasis". Like the way the font for sparks changes in Girl Genius whenever they go all mad-scientist on something.
