Part Three

"If you don't want Keiichiro, then I'll take him in..."

Tsuyoshi

I was in the corner of the dance room, strumming on my guitar when I caught a familiar head of brown hair peeking in and out at the doorway. A smile appeared on my face and I called out, "Keiichiro! Aren't you going to come in?"

The brunette grinned sheepishly and walked in. various calls of "Kei!" and "Nishikido-kun!" came from my students who had been practicing their dance steps. When he finally came up to me, he said, "Tsuyoshi-san...I wasn't sure if I was bothering you guys or not..."

I hit him on the head gently, "I told you plenty of times already. You're working part-time here, so you need to come in and find me to know what you’re doing for the day. You can't just stand there because you don't want to bother me. I'm not paying you for you to do nothing."

He stuck his tongue out slightly. "I'm sorry."

Suddenly, two unidentified...people tackled Keiichiro from the back. "Kei!" Both voices cried out at the same time.

"Ah!" I quickly shuffled away when I noticed Keiichiro losing his balance and falling down. He managed to dodge the chair, but still fell face-down on the floor. "Ow..." moaned Keiichiro since the two were still lying on top of him. "Nika...Senga..."

Sighing, I propped my guitar against the wall and proceeded to grab the two by the collar and pulled them up. "Nikaido-kun, Senga-kun, I believe you just saw Keiichiro two days ago. There's no need to tackle him now, is there?"

Keiichiro scrambled up the moment the weight was off him and turned to look at the mirror, lifting up his bangs and checking his forehead. "Whew...no bruises or any mark on my face." He turned to face the two. "Oniichan would have gotten so mad if you guys gave me a bruise or something."

Senga scratched his head and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, Kei."

"Either way, you'll protect us from Nishikido-kun, right?" asked Nikaido, beaming with confidence.

I recognized the sneaky grin Keiichiro had on his face. "Maybe not this time..." he said. "My knee actually kinda hurts right now...I guess I'll tell Oniichan that Nika and Senga tackled me down..."

"Eh?!" exclaimed Nikaido, clapping his hands together and bowing his head. "Wait a moment! Kei! I'm sorry! Don't tell Nishikido-kun!"

"We're sorry!" Senga joined Nikaido in the apology. I couldn't help but snicker out loud. "Tsuyoshi-san, don't laugh at us!"

My laughter only got louder and it wasn't long before Keiichiro burst out in giggles as well. "Nika, Senga, is Oniichan really that scary?"

"Of course he is..." Nikaido stopped speaking suddenly. It seems like those two finally realized Keiichiro had just tricked to them.

"Nishikido Keiichiro!" They shouted together.

Keiichiro immediately ran away from them while the younger two took chase. The dance room was filled with their lively shouts and laughter from the others who were watching the entertainment, making me smile. It makes me so much happier to see Keiichiro like this, so lively and happy because it was much better than the quiet and passive Keiichiro I see whenever I go over to the Nishikidos.

Nikaido and Senga managed to catch Keiihciro. They tackled him to the ground and began tickling him. Keiichiro shrieked with laughter, trying to roll away from their attacks. "Wataru!" he choked out. "Save me!"

Yokoo, who was addressed, just grinned and placed his arm on the shoulders of the boy beside him. "So Tama, should I save Kei?"

Smiling sweetly at the taller boy, Tamamori replied, "But Wataru saved me from Senga and Nika yesterday, right? Why won't you save Nishikido-kun?"

"Tama is different from Kei though." Yokoo lowered his arm to wrap around the other boy's waist.

"Wataru!" Keiichiro managed to scramble away for a second before getting caught again. "Stop flirting with Tama-chan!"

"I know," complained Miyata, crossing his arms. "You don't have to remind me that I'm single right now."

Keiichiro finally got up and ran behind Miyata. "You stay here and protect me from those two, or I'll tell Oniichan!"

Miyata moaned in distress. "Nishikido-kun, stop using your brother as a threat! It works too well!"

Grinning, I started clapping my hands to grab attention. "Okay, you guys stop fooling around now. Keiichiro, come over here. The rest of you, start practicing!" They all scrambled and started practicing almost immediately, while Keiichiro ran towards me. All of them knew they shouldn't make me angry...because it usually means getting Koichi angry when he finds out about it. "Fujigaya-kun, go prepare some tea and grab the cake from the fridge for me and Keiichiro."

"Eh?" The boy with the outstanding bangs moaned and his stance drooped. "Why me? Hiro usually does that...and why does Kei get the cake?"

"His job at the moment is to spend some time talking with me, so go, Fujigaya-kun."

"Kitayama isn't here to help you, Taipi," laughed Senga, who Fujigaya stuck his tongue out at.

Keiichiro turned to me, "Where are Kitayama and Iida?"

"They said they have to finish an assignment with some other classmates, so they're coming later," I replied.

"Ah...I see."

I turned around and said, "Come on, Keiichiro. Let's go to my room."

On the way, Keiichiro asked, "How's Koichi-san? I haven't seen him in a while."

A soft smile made its way on to my face. "Koichi's fine. He's been busy with the orphanage lately so he hasn't been coming over a lot."

"Tell Koichi-san that Oniichan and I want to have dinner with him soon, ne? Oniichan didn't say so, but I'm sure he misses Koichi-san as well."

I gave a soft laugh. "Alright." Opening the door to my room, I motioned Keiichiro to come in and sit down. "So Keiichiro, are you busy studying for university entrance exams now? Graduation is not too far away..."

Keiichiro blinked before giving me an awkward smile. "I'm not going to university yet, Tsuyoshi-san."

My eyes widened in surprise. "You're not going to university?! Why? Keiichiro, if you’re worried about your marks..."

He shook his head. "That's not it, Tsuyoshi-san." He paused for a second. "I...I want to go to night school for a year first, before applying to university. I want to earn some money before going...so Okaasan and Otousan won't have to pay... Oniichan is already going to university...I don't want to burden them..."

I sighed and patted his head. This child thinks too much for the sake of others. "You don't have to worry about that Keiichiro. Your family can afford you going to university no problem. And besides, I know you've been saving up for the past few years already, and with what I've paid you...if you continue working while you're in university, it'll be fine."

"But..."

Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted our conversation. Fujigaya poked his head and announced, "Tsuyoshi-san, I brought the tea and cake."

"Thank you," I replied. "Bring in it."

Fujigaya balanced the tray with his arms as he kicked the door lightly open. He laid the tray on the table and began to transfer the things. "Don't complain about my tea...I'm not an expert at tea-making like Hiro is... if you want to blame anyone for bad-tasting tea...then blame Hiro..."

“Taipi, it's not my fault if you can't brew tea properly..." Keiichiro and I laughed, seeing Kitayama hugging Fujigaya from behind.

"Hiro!" exclaimed Fujigaya.

I asked him, "You and Iida have finished your assignment?"

"Yep," replied Kitayama, still keeping the struggling boy trapped within his arms. "Taipi, stop trying to get away."

The boy kept on pushing the older one away. "I don't want to talk to you right now."

Kitayama forced Fujigaya to turn around and face him. "What's wrong?" Fujigaya just huffed and twisted his head away. "Taipi..."

As if watching some entertainment show, Keiichiro and I just began enjoying our tea and cake. Whispering, Keiichiro said, "Kitayama's tea-brewing skills really is better than Taipi's..."

Nuzzling his nose against Fujigaya's cheek, Kitayama said, "I'm sorry I had to work on my assignment with Iida even though I promised you we'd go out together before coming here...don't be mad?" The younger one just continued pouting. "I reserved the whole day for you tomorrow. We'll go anywhere you want and do anything you want, okay?"

Fujigaya turned his head and eyed his boyfriend suspiciously, "Anywhere I want? Anything I want to do?"

"Anywhere you want. Anything you want to do," confirmed Kitayama with a small peck on his forehead.

With a huge grin, Fujigaya threw his arms around Kitayama's neck, "Don't you regret it, Hiro!"

"Don't worry, I won't." The two began nuzzling their noses together.

At this point, Keiichiro already finished his cake and was licking his fork clean when he shuffled his chair closer towards me. "Ne, Tsuyoshi-san, are you sure you and Koichi-san don't act like this?"

I laughed, "Keiichiro, we're too old for this. Only you youngsters can be that sweet and flirt all the time."

"I think you can be sweet to your lover anytime though...no matter how old you are."

Suddenly Iida walked in, saying, "Kitayama, Fujigaya, you guys finished flirting yet? We can't start practicing the new steps without you guys."

The two shared a smile and let go of each other, holding hands instead. "We're coming."

Iida was about to leave with the two when he turned to the brunette beside me. "Keiichiro, you want to practice with us?"

I got up and began pushing Iida out the door, "Sorry, Iida-kun. I have jobs for Keiichiro to do. Maybe next time." I looked at Keiichiro. "Ready to work?"

He gave me a smile. "Hai."

"Aren't you going to wait for Ryo to come?" I asked Keiichiro as I watched him put on his shoes.

He stood up and replied, "Oniichan's classes end late today. I don't want to wait for him. I still have some homework to finish."

I gave him a smile. "You better take responsibility then if Ryo comes trashing my place, looking for you."

Giggling, he waved his hand in denial. "Oniichan doesn't have enough courage to go against an angry Koichi-san."

"That is true."

He was about to leave when a voice called out, "Keiichiro, wait." The two of us spun around at the same time and found Iida standing there with an umbrella in his hands. "It just started snowing outside. Take my umbrella." He held it out.

Keiichiro took it hesitantly. "What about you, Iida?"

"I'm fine. I have my hate and my hood anyways. You don't have anything, right?"

The brunette nodded. "How about I wait for you then? We'll walk home together."

I had to hold back a laugh when Iida blushed and became all flustered when Keiichiro, being the dense child he is, just blinked at him, waiting for a reply. "Don't worry about it, Keiichiro. I have an extra umbrella I can lend Iida-kun. You go on home now."

"Okay..."

"Oh, and Keiichiro?"

"Hm?"

I gave him a serious look. "Think about going to university, okay?"

Keiichiro’s eyes dulled a bit before answering quietly, "Hai." With that, he opened the door, released the umbrella and walked out into the snow.

Looking towards Iida, I found the boy staring longingly at Keiichiro. I sighed in my mind and reached out to ruffle his hair. "Come on, Iida-kun. Didn't you say you’d help me close up today?" Iida gave another look before nodding and going inside.

As if affected by him, I too turned to look at Keiichiro, who as getting smaller as he walked further away.

And suddenly, for a second, I had the horrible feeling that Keiichiro was going to disappear into the darkness forever soon.

"Will you love me forever?"

Keiichiro

"Nishikido-kun!"

I looked up from the textbook I was studying and found one of classmates calling me. "Yes?"

"Nagase-sensei wants to talk to you right now. In the staff room."

"Me?" I pointed to myself, sounding slightly surprised. He nodded in confirmation. "Alright..."

On my way to the staff room, I kept on thinking about what Nagase-sensei want from me. Did I fail a test? Not that language test right? Or did I do something and got into trouble without realizing it? Or...was it about university again? By the time I got there, my mind was filled with all sorts of possibilities and my heart was beating slightly faster due to my nervousness.

I knocked on the door and opened it while saying, "Sorry to disturb." Looking around, I found my teacher talking to another student. "Nagase-sensei?" I asked hesitantly.

He turned his attention towards me. "Ah, Nishikido-kun, we were just waiting for you. Come over, here."

As I walked over, I realized I knew the student Nagase-sensei was talking to. "Shige?" I exclaimed.

"I have something you two have to do for me," said Nagase-sensei.

"Both of us?" I asked. What was something he needed from two students of different class? Shige and I shared a confused look.

He gave a bright grin and said, "The graduation committee has decided that the two of you will be responsible of the student speech during the graduation ceremony."

"Eh?!" Shige and I had echoed each other's thoughts.

I was totally surprised. "But isn't the speech said by the top student of the grade? I don't think my grades are anywhere near there...Shige definitely is the top...but not me..."

Nagase-sensei stood up and gave us strong pats on the back, making me fall forward slightly. "Grades aren't the most important factor. I know Nishikido-kun is a great speaker, so together with Katou-kun, and I'm sure you guys will work well together since you guys are so close, I have confidence that you guys will deliver a wonderful speech."

"I..."

"Don't refuse it, Nishikido-kun. It'll be a good experience for you and for Katou-kun." He turned to Shige. "Katou-kun, are you willing to do it?"

Shige took a deep breath, before nodding. "I'll do it, sensei."

Nagase-sensei beamed. "Then I'll have you responsible convincing Nishikido-kun then." He picked up a folder and textbook off his table. "I have to go prepare for a class later, so hopefully, I'll hear from you guys soon." With another pat on our backs, and a wave, he left the room.

The two of us left the staff room before talking. "Kei, why don't you want to say the speech?"

I bit my bottom lip. "Do you think…I can do it too?"

Shige grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "Of course! You're the one who gets the best marks when giving a speech and talk the most during presentations, right? At least, that's what all your classmates say... I have confidence in you, Kei."

I didn't reply.

"Or...are you worried about something else?"

Looking at Shige briefly before lowering my head, I answered, "Ne...Shige...do you think Okaasan will be proud of me if I tell her I'm doing the graduate speech?"

Shige didn't answer me immediately, but I can almost him pursing his lips, annoyed that I care so much about what Okaasan thinks of me. "...If she doesn't feel proud, at least make your father and Nishikido-kun feel proud."

I held on to Shige's hand. "You think so?"

"I know so."

Taking a deep breath, I looked up at Shige and gave him a small smile. "Okay."

I knew deep in my heart, I was still hoping for Okaasan to accept me...that I still had hope, despite that light tug in my heart that would never go away.

But I never expected Okaasan to do something like that...

Author's Note: OH MY GOSH WHY IS TSUYOSHI SO MUCH MORE POSITIVE THAN KEI IS??? THAT'S JUST NOT RIGHT. DD= I fail at Tsuyoshi's perspective...but I really like KissuMai's cameo...because I personally think that I made them very adorable. ROFL. Yokoo x Tama was kinda random...I just happened to read a Chinese fic with that pairing...and somehow they turned up in my own fic. And Iida x Kei was just like WHAT THE HELL?! I was trying to give Iida a few lines to say because before I had like one line planned for him...and somehow...it came out like that... Kei's perspective is pretty short...but who cares...because he's the main character and he'll get tons of perspective time later on... Ryo didn't show up at all~ But I mentioned him quite a bit~ Ryo is such a scary figure for KissuMai ne...ROFL. XDDD I have no idea why Nagase is the teacher...that was random as well...

It's probably because I'm a girl...and I fail at writing about how a male feels and thinks and whatnot...because right now, I feel like KEI IS BEING SUCH A GIRL. DDD= Maybe that's why he's bottom.

So...graduation ceremony~ That'll be coming up soon...and another new character will be introduced soon as well~ Well...he'll be mentioned next chapter...but he won't show up until the chapter after the next...which is...5.

Such a busy week...hopefully I'll finish the next chapter in time.

COMMENTS ARE LOVE~ =DDD

I didn't have to make a banner. D= I can't even decide on which pictures to use...ideas anyone?
