Also I was wondering, if it is no bother, do you know where I could buy magazines like TV Guide and the Television and the like?

If you don't have a Japanese bookstore that sells these magazines near you or a friend who can pick up these magazines directly in Japan for you, there is unfortunately no way to buy them online as online sites do not sell them to overseas buyers. I'm not sure if there are any services out there that can help with that.
