I want to wax lyrical about everything that's been going on and why it's been so long -- but really, today is the longest slowest day that was ever a day. I've been rereading my old fic and now what I REALLY want is for anyone reading this to give me a prompt for a comment box fic because HI I MISSED YOU AND I AM GLAD TO BE BACK FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

Erik can feel every movement of every gear in the clock over the mantle; the ticking of the second hand is the cascaded result of long, slow effort -- it's as good a metaphor as any for how he feels right now, the afternoon ticking by at a torturous pace as they wait for anything to happen at all. Erik has never been meant for relaxation like this and, somehow, Charles has picked up the habit of Erik's own restlessness ( ... )
