I'm going to have to say I like the games you can play on your computer, especially MMOs. Of course, the biggest one is World of Warcraft. It's easy to get started and just jump in with a character. Tons of people play it so you'll always meet people. The drawback is that it's stalker world there, but that's what the ignore button is for
( ... )
True. All of my games are on PC. I'm still playing the STOnline MMO though I know a lot of people gave up on it but I think they've worked a bunch of kinks out and have redone the graphics and play design so that it's much better. Plus, I believe they're also going to free download and play (thinking they can make money on people who want to buy extras). Still can't get a lot of people to play the Klingon side, though.
The only game system we have now is WII. I think it is good but I don't have any other new system to compare it to. I think PS may be better for more adult type games. The Nintendo WII is what we picked because of the wide variety of kid type games. Mario brothers, sports games, Lego starwars etc.
I love my Wii, because I love Nintendo games. But the Playstation has good stuff, too (Remember Kingdom Hearts?). Most hardcore gamers squee about Xbox 360, but I don't really play those types of games (Call of Duty, stuff like that) or require that online interface, so.... I'd say Wii, because you can get all the fun motion-stuff in addition to games. Or Playstation for extra variety.
I'm more of a casual gamer myself so all I have are various Nintendo Gameboys, the DSLite and a Playstation 1.
I don't have a Wii though, but my DSLite keeps me occupied with both super casual/mind-thinky games (Picross, Puchi Puchi Virus, ACE ATTORNEY because nothing is more satisfying than yelling 'OBJECTION!' at the DS) to the longer and more provoking ones (The World Ends With You, FF Advance Tactics, Pokemon, GTA, all manner of RTS games) and pretty much everything in between. Also, my board games group comes equipped with DS-es per person so when we're bored of traditional board games we head on to virtual ones.
Plus, its portable, so you can just whip it out anywhere and start ignoring reality.
and, if you're not to iffy about breaking the law/piracy, you can get a flashcart and just download the games into your DS for free. The games on their own can get pretty pricey, that's why.
