i think out of all the answers here, i'd have to agree with you. the "shitty childhood" theory tends to be the reason why we do a lot of fucked up things now.

ive been asking that same damn question to girls for the last 6 years. one girl told me it was b/c "we think we can change the guy" but i said back "well y waste time changing the asshole and just go for a guy who's already nice to you??" no answer.
