new year's day 2009 ruminatorics

tattoos
i had occasion today to pass by the lyle tuttle tattoo museum, where i got my first and only tattoo. if i ever get another, i think it will be the single word "invictus". not so much because it currently describes me, but because i think it once did -- i may spend a lifetime wondering whether it ought not still to, and getting back to it if i think ( Read more... ) -

i've spent the morning cleaning -- there was such a lot of dust! -- and have thrown open all the windows, burnt a little incense, hosed down the concrete of the patio, and realized that tiny birds (sparrows?) are nesting in a beam of the porch above my garden. i'm listening to a mishmash of R.E.M. albums and pondering trying to do something good ( Read more... )
