The Rendezvous
By: Sharl
Seunghyun turned the ignition off of his Bugatti Veyron, a waiting valet hurriedly stepping down the driveway and greeted him with a bow. A new young beautiful caddy wearing short skirts and tight T-shirt that showed off her body was waiting for him. But Seunghyun paid her no mind. Not when he just left someone exactly like her back at his mansion. And besides the idea of going to this particular golf course was so that he could escape from her trophy wife who acted not all trophy-like when they were at the house.
At a respectable age of thirty-eight, Seunghyun was everything a man could hope for. He had his own logistic company, was in the Forbes’ Korea Top 10 Richest Guys under Forty list, married to a supermodel fifteen years younger. He was the envy of every man, and adoration of every woman.
Tossing his car keys to the valet, Seunghyun thought If only that was true.
The truth was his life was not that good. In fact it had taken to a worse turn since he had married his so-called trophy wife. She was a harpy as soon as she got the ostentatious diamond ring on her perfectly manicured finger. She took the term jealousy to a whole new level, and whined when her demands were not fulfilled immediately. Divorcing her was not an option. She had gotten her claws deep in Seunghyun’s wealth because he had been so stupid not to sign any prenuptial agreement.
“Good morning, sir,” the manager said with a bow. He added with whispered tones, “Mr. Siwon has been waiting for you at the East Course.”
Seunghyun’s eyes flickered with interest. “All right, prepare the cart.”
The manager bowed again and instructed the caddy to bring the vehicle around. She scampered away but not before giving Seunghyun one last flirty smile. Seunghyun smirked inwardly. Well then, let’s see if she still can smile after this.
Meeting Siwon was the only reason why he was so addicted with this particular golf course. Unlike any other golf course where usually it involved nothing but hills and green grass, this golf course was located at the edge of the forest. Each course had gazebos every three kilometers where rich golfers could rest. Or in his and Siwon’s case, where they usually meet.
Siwon was Seunghyun’s neighbor and business partner. Their wives were each other’s BFF, and while Seunghyun made his fortune in shipping and logistic, Siwon made his in hotel and property. He bought old buildings, tear them down and built a new one with more modern design. Just like Seunghyun, Siwon also had his own trophy wife although in his case, she was an heiress rather than a supermodel. But that didn’t make Siwon’s wife more agreeable though.
She whined as much as Seunghyun’s was, but what made it worse: Siwon’s wife controlled his money. Siwon was stupidly in love with her back then so he signed every document that gave her full control on his fortune. He realized that dreadful mistake six months after they married, but things were too late. So right now Siwon, at the ripe age of thirty-eight, was trying to slip his fortune away from his wife’s greedy hands. He diversified a lot behind his wife’s back while maintaining the role of perfect husband for her.
Only Seunghyun knew what Siwon was really like, and what he planned to do. And he took great pride in it.
He arrived at the East Course in mere ten minutes. The young caddy tried to make conversation along the drive, but after he answered her with mono-syllabic answers, she finally gave up. He stepped out from the cart and immediately found Siwon’s tall form standing in one gazebo. Making his way there, Seunghyun tried not to think how strange it’d look to the new caddy. He didn’t do any warm up, he hadn’t even taken out any golf club. He just went straight to where Siwon was.
Siwon must’ve heard him coming because the man suddenly turned around. Seunghyun noted pleasantly how those eyes widened slightly in amusement. “Hi,” Siwon said when Seunghyun finally stood few steps away. His eyes then flickered to something behind Seunghyun. The new caddy was still there.
“Leave,” Seunghyun ordered.
She looked flustered but knowing she didn’t have any choice, or risking the loss of a huge tip when the golf was over. She walked away, leaving the electric cart to the two wealthy men and began to walk the long way back to the main lobby.
Siwon seemed amused. “You don’t even planning to play golf? Tsk Seunghyun, then why did you even bother to come here?”
Seunghyun took the last few steps forward, until he was finally standing inches away from the other man. “As if you don’t already know what I have in mind,” he replied. Tracing Siwon’s chest through the expensive t-shirt the man wore, Seunghyun smiled coyly. “So how is your plan coming along?”
Siwon scrunched his face. “Do you have to ask that first?”
Seunghyun let out a deep laugh. “Well I’m making a conversation starter here. I don’t see you making one.”
“Maybe because we don’t need one.”
An eyebrow was raised. Seunghyun knew a challenge when he saw one. But he didn’t rise to the bait immediately. Instead he stepped closer, pressing their bodies together and whispered in Siwon’s ear, “I hate my wife. And my stupid kids.”
“Why are we talking about them?”
“Because you’re the only I can relate to,” Seunghyun answered truthfully. “You know what I feel like because you experienced the same thing.”
A look of understanding passed Siwon’s eyes. And then sympathy. He was about to open his mouth when Seunghyun stopped him. “Don’t say anything. I just want you to listen. Comment if you need to, but please don’t give any solution.” Not when you’re in deep shit yourself.
He didn’t say anything for a while. Seunghyun turned and saw the young caddy was hiding behind nearby tree, her mouth gasped open as she witnessed the most scandalous meeting in Korean upper society occurred. Not only the two rich men were gay, they also fucked each other. Well he did tell her to leave so it’s not as if it’s his fault that she saw this. He briefly wondered how much it’d take to give her the gag order. Maybe Siwon would have better idea.
“Look there,” Seunghyun pointed with a nod towards the young caddy. Siwon looked just in time before she blushed at being discovered and hide again. “We’re being watched, what do you say about that?”
“Is that a new girl?”
Seunghyun pretended to sigh. “So what if she is? Does it matter?”
“Only because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen at your house. Wasn’t she one of your wife’s ladies maids?”
Huh. Now that Siwon mentioned it, she did look familiar. Thank heaven Siwon had a photographic memory because Seunghyun definitely didn’t remember her at all. Well the fact that she was one of his wife’s ladies maids made the whole thing even more interesting. That meant they didn’t need to give her money to make her shut up. Seunghyun could just confront his wife about this and why was she sending her to spy on him.
Maybe a few hints about leaking it to the press might help to seal the deal. His wife maybe young, but she was incredibly proud. She wouldn’t want the society to know that she couldn’t control her husband especially since she loved to brag to her snobbish friends that she knew exactly how to control him.
“I knew there’s a reason why I love you,” Seunghyun said with a smirk.
Siwon’s eyes widened in pleasure and he smiled, two dimples appearing. Seunghyun rarely said any affection but when he did, Siwon knew he meant them. “Why, thank you. As much as I want to show how happy I am with you saying that, I don’t want her to see this other side of you. I’m the only who can watch as my cock slid deep inside your body, fucking you with it.”
Seunghyun suppressed a shiver. “God I want that. But I agree, I’m the only one who’s allowed to see you naked nowadays. Something not even your wife can see.”
“Told you not to mention her, it’s turning me off.”
“Oh I know exactly how to turn you back on,” he replied.
This time Siwon was the one who suppressed the shiver. “I’ll hold on to that word. Now I think I should go or otherwise I’ll just fuck you here regardless of her watching or not. I’ll arrange a schedule later to let you know when and where we can meet.” He then took a step back, watch Seunghyun with lustful eyes and said, “It’s been a pleasure meeting you. Until next time.”
Siwon smirked. “I’m looking forward to it.”

The Burn of Competition
By: Serpentine Slytherin
“Choi, nice job on today’s fire! Saving that old woman by carrying her out like that? You’re a damn hero,” Donghae barked, clapping Siwon on the shoulder as he passed. The man grinned at him as he changed into a fresh tank top and jeans after his shower, running a hand through his still wet hair. Seunghyun scoffed lightly before turning to his own locker, opting to just go home in his sweaty, smoke stenched clothes instead.
Seunghyun hated how well liked Siwon was with everyone, just because he was good at his job. Seunghyun was good too if not better, but he never got praised the way Siwon did and was never even acknowledged by the man himself for his hard work.
“Choi!” a voice barked and Seunghyun looked up, blinking as he saw Siwon looking at him. Most of all, he hated that they shared the same surname.
“Why are you going home in your nasty clothes again? Why don’t you just shower here like the rest of us?” Siwon asked, pulling a sweatshirt over his muscled body as he got ready to leave for the night shift to arrive.
“It’s none of your business” Seunghyun muttered, grabbing his bag and closing his locker harshly before wrapping himself in his bulky jacket. Siwon eyed him oddly before following him out much to Seunghyun’s chagrin, seeing as they parked next to each other.
“Why are you so crabby all the time? Lighten up dude” Siwon said flippantly, unlocking his fancy Audi with a beep of his keys. Seunghyun glared at him as he unlocked his own shitty car by jamming the key in the door and twisting it harshly, wrenching it open.
“I am NOT crabby all the time, you’re just and arrogant jerk who gets all the praise for something other people helped with” Seunghyun growled, throwing his bag in the car and missing the way Siwon’s eyebrows shot up his forehead.
“Well it only makes sense since I’m one of the best fire fighters here” Siwon said nonchalantly, glancing at Seunghyun as the other glared fiercely at him. “In case you haven’t noticed, my statistics, rescues and revivals are all higher than yours!” Seunghyun snapped, making Siwon frown at him. The younger fire fighter was sick and tired of never being noticed next to the handsome, strong and brave Siwon and it was time he made it known.
“I don’t understand. What are you saying?” Siwon asked, looking at the other with a strange look. “I’m saying I want to hold a contest: whoever performs the best in the next week wins. Loser has to verbally acknowledge the other in front of the rest of the crew and cater to the winner’s needs for another week” Seunghyun challenged and Siwon scoffed. The older couldn’t believe the other wanted to resort to these kinds of silly and childish antics, but there was no way he could refuse; the competitive nature within him wouldn’t allow him too.
“You’re on. Starting tomorrow, we’ll see who can save the most people, put out the most fires and raise their stats the highest” Siwon agreed and Seunghyun threw him a nasty look before getting into his car and driving off, flipping Siwon the finger when the other smirked at him.
The older fire fighter chuckled as he watched the other speed of fin his junky car before getting into his own, smiling to himself slightly. He was often amused and intrigued by Seunghyun, the newest member of their casern as of almost seven months ago. The man was often silent, surprising people when he did speak as many did not expect such a deep, rich voice to reside within him.
Siwon couldn’t help but ponder on Seunghyun while driving home; the man was such a mystery to him. The younger harbored this resentment and possible hate towards Siwon and the man was confused as to why. He’d been nothing but nice and welcoming towards the other when he first transferred onto their team from across the country, but from the first moment Siwon had introduced himself, Seunghyun had disliked him. Siwon was at a loss as to why, but then again there were so many things that confused him about the other man.
For example, Seunghyun never showered at the station. Ever. Not only that, but he never changed there either. Now that he thought about it, Siwon couldn’t remember a time where he’d seen less than a long sleeve shirt and jeans on the other. He didn’t think Seunghyun to be the self-conscious type, having way too much pride in other aspects of his life. And as far as he could tell, the other was well toned and not at all flabby… but then again, that never stopped Shindong from disrobing in front of them.
Another thing was that Siwon knew almost absolutely nothing about Seunghyun: not about his family, his hobbies or even if he had a girlfriend. The man was determined to keep his personal life locked away and separate from his work life, which was a rare thing at the station. All the other fighters knew everything about each other, it was a given due to the amount of trust they had in one another after so many years working together.
Seunghyun was an enigma to Siwon, but the man was determined to figure him out during this week… while winning their little competition of course.
“You got in my way! If it wasn’t for you, I would’ve been able to grab the girl and make it out safely!” Seunghyun yelled, face contorted in fury as it grew more and more red. Siwon glared back at him, eyebrows drawn down in anger and disbelief.
“If I wouldn’t have gone in after you, both of you would be charred meat by now!” Siwon shouted back, both men practically toe to toe as they argued. Seunghyun scoffed, making Siwon even angrier since the man didn’t seem to care about his own safety.
“Do you not care about yourself that much? You would risk your life like that even when someone offered to help you?” Siwon asked, a biting edge to his voice. It bothered him immensely that Seunghyun thought that way, not seeing that Siwon would be there for him whether he asked or not.
“You just wanted to get her out yourself to add another mark towards your score” Seunghyun snapped and Siwon gaped at him.
“That isn’t it at all! Don’t you see, I saved you and her because if I didn’t, you’d both be dead and burned to ashes! It has nothing to do with the bet and everything to do with the fact that I don’t want to lose a member of my team” Siwon barked out, eyes wide and face drawn as he shouted at the younger fire fighter.
Seunghyun stalked off, done with the explosive conversation as he grabbed his gear out of his locker, ready to go home and shower. They had been doing the bet for four days now, both tied neck and neck. Siwon was a very skilled fire fighter, even more so when someone goaded him into a competition and Seunghyun realized he may have bitten off more than he could chew.
But he had been so close to pulling ahead, racing into that burning house to save a little girl who was trapped in her bedroom. He had been able to make it inside before he scooped the girl up, turning to run out of the house when the floor fell away, too much having been burned by the too hot fire. Seunghyun realized he was good and trapped with a crying little girl in his arms when he saw another yellow clad figure at the bottom of the hole.
“Drop her to me!” Siwon had yelled, arms spread wide to catch the girl. Seunghyun had obeyed, noticing the flames licking around the walls and getting closer to them. He counted to three and dropped her, watching as Siwon caught her successfully before running her out of the demolished house.
Seunghyun looked around, trying to see a way down and out but finding none that wouldn’t result in a dangerous injury. Just then however, Siwon had run back into the house, standing where he had been before and spreading his arms once again.
“Jump!” Siwon yelled and Seunghyun stared in disbelief. “Are you kidding me?! You can’t catch me!” Seunghyun screamed back, the roar of the fire deafening to him as it grew closer and closer.
“Seung, just trust me okay? Jump and I will catch you!” Siwon promised, using a nickname the other man had never heard before. Realizing he had no other options, he took a deep breath and made a leap of faith, flying through the air just as the part of the floor he was standing on gave way to flames. Siwon braced himself, ready to catch the falling man as Seunghyun crashed into his arms, both of them emitting a loud oomph!
“I got you, I got you” Siwon chanted, arms holding Seunghyun tightly as he lowered him to the ground, grabbing his hand and leading him out of the burning house. Once they made it outside into the fresh air, Seunghyun collapsed, having inhaled too much smoke through his cracked mask. Siwon kneeled beside him, taking off the damaged mask and started checking his vital signs.
“You’re okay, just minor smoke inhalation” Siwon breathed, a sigh of relief leaving him as the other fire fighters made their way over to check if they were okay. Had Seunghyun been paying more attention, he would’ve noticed the sad, longing looks Siwon was giving him as Donghae led him over to an ambulance to attach him to some oxygen.
Seunghyun sighed as he looked back at earlier today, realizing that Siwon was in fact just trying to save him. He wouldn’t apologize though; he didn’t need the man to think he had won already.
He made his way out to his car, ready to go home and shower the day off of him and sleep for several hours. He didn’t notice Siwon watching him from the window, a calculating look on his handsome face as he left the station, pointing his car to the small house he called home.
“Oh, Seunghyun left his bag here” Donghae noticed, pointing towards the small black backpack the man carried everywhere.
“I’ll drop it off for him” Siwon volunteered, grabbing the pack and heading out to his car. He knew where Seunghyun lived, having dropped the man off once when his car wouldn’t start a few months ago, so he quickly made his way towards the house that was only a few blocks away.
He pulled up in the driveway, noticing lights on and the man’s car there. Siwon got out with the bag and walked up to the door, knocking loudly. “Seunghyun?” He called, but received no answer. He checked the door knob and noticed that it was unlocked, choosing to open it and enter the man’s house.
Siwon heard some noise in the back of the house, so he slipped his shoes off before wandering back there, keeping his eyes peeled for the man.
“Seunghyun?” He called again, looking around.
“What are you doing here?!” A panicked voice called and Siwon whirled around, seeing the man he was looking for behind him. Seunghyun had a startled if not scared look on his handsome face as he took on Siwon’s presence in his house. But that wasn’t what drew Siwon’s attention; Seunghyun was soaking wet, dressed in nothing but a white towel that was slung around his hips.
Looking at the man, Siwon finally realized why Seunghyun never showered or changed in front of them: his whole right side was twisted into a gnarled, angry looking scar. From the top of his thigh, running up his abdomen and torso and finally looping around his arm, the skin was red and raised and Siwon instantly recognized what it was. It was a burn scar.
“Why are you here?” Seunghyun whispered, obviously noticing the way Siwon was staring at the hideous parts of his body. Siwon snapped out of it, stepping forward and offering the man’s bag.
“You left this at the station, I volunteered to bring it back” Siwon said lamely, trying to keep his eyes on Seunghyun’s and not the large portion of scarred tissue that covered a lot of the man’s right side. Seunghyun snatched the bag from him, keeping his eyes lowered as if waiting for Siwon to mock him.
“You can leave now…” Seunghyun trailed off, voice quiet. Siwon gaped at him, this being the first time he’d ever seen the man so timid and demure. He was used to seeing the smirk on his chiseled face, a taunt ready on his plump lips and sarcasm pouring out of his very stance. This sad, almost weak looking Seunghyun startled Siwon and he wasn’t sure he liked it.
“Where… What happened?” Siwon asked softly, hand reaching up as if to touch the scars before he quickly lowered it. Seunghyun looked up through his dark bangs, evaluating Siwon and deeming whether he was worthy of the truth or not.
“When I was eight, my family was killed in a fire. I had a mother, father and a wonderful younger sister and all three were burned to a crisp. I would’ve been too, if that fire fighter hadn’t saved me. I had sustained many injuries, suffering from third degree burns to the majority of my right half…” Seunghyun trailed off, voice growing faint as he recounted the memories.
It all made sense to Siwon now; the man’s drive towards their profession, the reason he never undressed in front of them or why he spoke of his family or personal life. The older man couldn’t help but feel his heart breaking for the other, not able to comprehend the amount of pain Seunghyun has gone through.
“Go ahead, laugh” Seunghyun dared, lifting his head and challenging Siwon with his fierce eyes. Siwon was taken aback, the shock clearly written on his face at the other’s words. “Why on earth would I laugh?!” Siwon thought the other was maybe joking with him, but Seunghyun just glared.
“Everyone else did when they saw me. They either laughed or looked away in disgust” he snarled and Siwon could feel the crack in his heart deepening. He stepped closer brazenly before wrapping his long arms around the man’s lanky frame, hugging him close to his muscular body. Seunghyun froze, his stance rigid as he tried to understand what was happening and why Siwon was being so damn nice to him.
“I’m sorry that happened to you, I’m sorry people are assholes. But I would never, ever laugh at you for something like this. And you’re not disgusting, in fact they look kind of cool” Siwon said softly, the words being spoken in Seunghyun’s hair. The younger was still so rigid, his muscles tensed as Siwon spoke words to him that he had longed to hear his whole life.
“And for the record, I’ve always acknowledged you’re a great fire fighter, but you never gave me the chance to tell you” Siwon admitted, holding the other tighter when he felt Seunghyun start to relax.
“Don’t lie” the younger muttered and Siwon pulled away enough to look him in the eye. “I don’t lie, especially about things like that. You’re a great fire fighter and a great person Seung, if only you’d let me in to explore you further” Siwon said and Seunghyun startled. Siwon, realizing that last statement could be misconstrued as quite sexual, quickly back tracked.
“I meant as a person and friend, not a… you know” he finished lamely, relief flooding through him when he felt Seunghyun chuckle softly.
“I guess you’re not so bad after all” he admitted and Siwon beamed at him, dimples flashing. Seunghyun found himself mesmerized by them, never having seen them so close or directed at him in this way.
“Although, if you’d let me, I wouldn’t be opposed to exploring you that way as well” Siwon mumbled, eyes moving from Seunghyun’s down to his lips. The younger’s heart beat stuttered in his chest at the confession, seeing the way Siwon looked at him like that, even with his scars on full display.
“If you win the bet, then we’ll see” Seunghyun quipped, breath hitching in his throat when the man grinned at him again.
“Oh you’re so on. If you thought I was giving it my all before, you are sorely mistaken” Siwon promised, delighted to see the younger’s smirk back on his face. Before either could say anything else, Seunghyun pushed up and connected their lips in a hard, wet kiss.
“Consider it a deal.”
