chantfleuri has a list of 100 interesting facts about herself in her journal. It makes me wonder if I could come up with 100 interesting facts about myself. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Not Nearly 100 Interesting Facts....1. My father wanted to name me Nannie Mae, after his mother.
2. At one time, I owned 17 cats.
3. I grew up on a farm (so having 17 cats wasn't that crazy).
4. I know how to ride a horse (hunter-jumper, and some dressage and cross-country).
5. I attended both my mother's and my father's alma maters -- Cornell University for a BA, and Harvard University/ART for an MFA.
6. I was kicked out of my sorority, DPhiE, for non-attendance because of the time requirements of my theatre major.
7. I have six half-siblings.
8. I was born when my father was 60 years old.
9. I was a tom-boy.
10. I first worked in professional theatre when I was 15 (I volunteered for an opera called Travels).
11. I used to run Sir Percy's Place (SirPercy.org)-- the biggest website for the book, films, and musical The Scarlet Pimpernel.
12. Cats was the first show I saw on Broadway -- only the first half, because my mother got sick. Phantom of the Opera was the first entire show I saw on Broadway, a year later.
13. I cannot stomach a bully and tend to suicidally stand up to the bad guys.
14. Predictably, my favorite literary characters include Sir Percy Blakeney, Javert, and Prince Mishkin. Less predictably, they also include Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom.
15. I won a "craziest hat" contest in high school by wearing a hat shaped like a gigantic dragon's head.
16. I have a scar under my chin from falling on a concrete stair at age 4. So does my mother. It must run in the family to trip on concrete stairs.
17. I studied French for five years in high school.
18. I have been studying Russian for one year and dabbling in it a bit longer.
19. Susan Kay's Phantom was my favorite book for many years.

21. I'm moving to Russia for a year to work with (again) and/or just observe (who knows yet?) a super-duper talented director who I adore and who knows all the words to Jesus Christ Superstar.
22. I did live in Moscow for three months already, and loved it loved it loved it.

24. Brendon Fraser grabbed my hand in a handshaking line. (I really wanted to shake hands with Hillary Clinton, and I failed).
25. Summer of 1997: I attended The Virginia Governor's School for the Humanities.
26. I translated Racine's little known play Esther from French to English.
27. I was a early reader/editor for the book Opera's First Master by Mark Ringer, which is about Monteverdi.

28. I had coffee, chocolate, and mini-waffles on the roof of the Kennedy Center at a swanky closing night party for Kiss Me Kate with Chuck Wagner (who sang as-yet-unreleased Dracula demo music to me) and Lauren!
28. On my 21st Birthday, I witnessed a brawl which broke out at 4 AM in a diner on 8th Avenue in NYC.

30. I was awarded a Certificate of Disinternment upon completing a stage management internship at Pearl Theatre Company.
31. I've been employed by Harvard University in a teaching capacity, and have delivered lectures and led sections there.
32. Participated in the oh so secret initiation ceremony (won't tell you about it) for Der Hexenkreis (est. 1892) - Mortar Board National Honor Society.
33. People remember me for my smile.
34. I had a pet toad named Toady.
35. A doctor once diagnosed me with "Failure to Thrive." I throve!
36. Once I put a chicken egg under a duck, just to see what would happen.
37. I used to dress sheep in my old jazz and tap costumes. (It was for a 4-H competition)

40. I celebrated three birthdays at Marlowe, my favorite NYC bar (now closed).
41. In high school, some called me "The Sharmeister."
42. I have been a member of the Richard III Society.
43. For three years, I was a member of Risley Hall, the fine and performing arts program house at Cornell.
44. My second to worst job was when I worked in a frame shop making picture frames.
45. My worst job was working at Staples in the Copy Center.
46. My college fund included two cows.
47. I attended private school - first a hippy throwback alternative program (Community School) and later North Cross, a very traditional private middle and high school.
48. I took ballroom dancing when I was 15, and would like to dance again.
49. I'm a true New Yorker (or so I like to imagine) even though I was born in Virginia. My heart belongs to the Big Apple.
50. I am hoping to learn Scottish Gaelic. For that matter, I'm hoping just to visit Scotland, because my ancestors come from there -- a small town called Catrine.
51. In January of 2007, I will visit London for the first time. It will also be my fist ever real vacation, planned for by myself. My family doesn't do travel. I myself have gone to NYC to see theatre from time to time, but I've never really taken a vacation.
